So I am constantly watching Igor's list and last week i saw quite a few updates about 8 every day receiving their NOA 2, this week for the first two days there were only a few updates.

I think Igor's list is certainly i good tool to sort of get an idea of what is being processed but there are quite a few flaws in it.

1. Fake Profiles

2. Duplicate Profiles

3. Deserted Profiles (created but never updated)

4. It represents only probably a quarter of all the submitted applications. I am sure not everyone going for a K1 creates a profile.

Did I leave anything out?

ps. i still check it and get happy every time i see my name going up the waiting list, however i need to remind myself it really isn't a good indicator of where we stand.

I just recently discovered the Berkley Igor's list website and have been looking at the stats and updates every day. Quite obsessively and have been wondering the same thing... how accurate is the list? We just broke the 200 mark, so I was SUPER excited about that... but then again, how accurate is it?

Dont look at that list. Just look at other people's timelines (there is a timeline search on VJ) and you will get a really good estimate. You can "friend" some people that got their NOA1 a little ahead of you and when they get their NOA2 you will have a good idea. My estimate was 1-2 days off.

I know at work i am in front of the computer all day long and busy or not I always find myself checking out the list way to many times. We are still in the 400's i think 434 today last week we were about 470's so i feel we went up but wow by the time we will be at 200 I'm gonna have gray hair i feel.

You know another fact is that see if you loon on the list there is the first list where we are, however if you scroll down and pass that and pass the K'3 you will see the list titled "Still waiting for NOA2 from VSC K-1 I-129F up to 3 months beyond the VSC processing time (2011-02-03)"which has about 96 names, so technically your # 200 on the list is 296 if you think that these people should get their 2nd NOA before you since they applied last year. and oh well my #434 is in the 500's....

VJ only represents 4% of the total petitions that USCIS handle. You may move up the list, be ready for disappointment when your case doesnt get approved when you get to that number 1 spot. Mine didn't get approved until a month after the number 1 spot and in the meantime I was watching everyone get approved before me that filed after me. Not saying that will be your situation, but the best way to know when your case is getting looked at is to be best friends with the person that is adjucating your case.

I had figured that the number of applications on Igor's list are not representative of the whole I would have thought maybe it is about 1/2 of all the applications received by USCIS. But 4% ?!? Do you think it is that drastic? Did you get this % from somewhere or is it a wild guess?

Like the other poster said, ignore Igor's List. Instead, look at other people's timelines.

We got our NOA2 when we were still number ninety-something on Igor's List. Sheesh...

Niceee Congrats!!!!

I only use Igor's list to see the most recently approved so I can see when the recently approved people received their NOA1s. I think I was still in the 200's on the list, and I was approved today. The timelines are really good though, and the estimated dates you'll receive your NOA2. Mine was right on, I got my petition approval today and the estimation was august 2-15

Sept. 2009- met while studying in Italy
1/3/2011- engaged
3/28/2011- I-129f mailed
4/4/2011- NOA1 email
4/11/2011- NOA1 hard-copy
8/3/2011- NOA2
10/12/2011- Interview and Visa Approval!

January 7 2012- wedding

07/22/14-Mailed I-751 to remove conditions

01/28/2015- removal of conditions approved

Congratulations!! That is interesting to know that # 200 on the list does not necessarily mean another 2 months. In the quest of getting to number 1 on the list we forget that the number itself is not so important. I also check out to see the latest dates they process to get an idea, however sometimes even that is not too reliable in the same day they may send NOA 2 to someone who applied in January, another person who applied in March and yet another one that applied in May. So you may be the lucky May case but just as well you may be the unlucky January case.

Congrats again!

4% is a pretty good estimate; it might be higher but I think it's definitely less than 10%

When I was waiting for approval, I would check the USCIS site and it would give the number of petitions waiting and I used that number along with the number we have here at VJ and figured out a percentage close to 4%.

So, yeah, we're a pretty small percentage.

i did not know that the USCIS has a section where it lists how many applications they have. Do you have a link to share, I would like to check it as well.

Thanks,

i check the list daily! :) we are cr1 filers tho and the cr1 list is slower than k1 list (meaning days will past with no approval)...we are june filers and the june list only have 13 and when i see 4 approvals off that list for june already it makes me happy...4% or not somebody at vsc is working on a june batch! :) and it makes me hopeful...

also the timeline estimates would be directly related to igor's list right?many persons attest to their vj timeline estimates being correct (altho many too have said inaccurate) but today my glass is half full,i start my day with a smile on my face just becos my vj estimate moved me into august 31st for noa2! cant help it...it gives me hope and today i believe!

goodluck to all and Godbless!
