Hi guys! I am looking into the vaccinations right now. And seriously.. we need that many? Are they all necessary? I am already too late for hepatitis B. Because I gotta have shot and then come back 2 months later for another one and come back again after 6 months. But I already have the interview scheduled in the end of September and I plan to go to the States in November. So there is no way I'll make that. How big of a problem will this be?

I am Dutch. So especially people with experience from the Amsterdam Consulate please help me! And in general anyone who knows something about these vaccinations that would be so helpful!

Goodluck all on the Journey!

I don't know anything about visa medicals in your country, but in Manila they usually give the K-1ers only the MMR and TDAP shots.

It's kind of ironic though, because the instructions the Embassy sends to Filipino K-1 visa applicants contains a long laundry list of required vaccinations.

There is a fast track hep B - which is one, then one month later, then one month later again - try asking about that?

To be honest though, when you're at your medical they tell you that you don't need all of them (depending on how high a risk country you are coming from), and they test ur blood to see which u already have an immunity to (from shots as a kid), and will tell you which you need to get done.

I ended up needing only about 3 shots.

Have you seen the doctor yet? A lot of vaccines can (and often are) waived because they're not age appropriate, and for other reasons as well. I hadn't been vaccinated since age 9 (I'm 30) and I only needed two.

Exactly what I was going to say. Mind you, watch out for the panel physicians saying you need another medical for AOS, your medical is good for a year. Just find someone to complete the series for you in the States.

A lot of vaccines from the list are waived because they are not age appropriate. Take a look at this chart: http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/panel/vaccination-panel-technical-instructions.html (bottom of the page)

Most people age 18-64 only need Tdap, MMR and Varicella (if no history of chicken pox).
