It looks like you two have another thing in common: both accounts have, at one time or another, publicized your email address on this site. That generally results in headaches unless you have already planned for this. This topic is being discussed in the site discussion section.

There is no scouring involved. There is a search bar at the top of each page. It took me 2 seconds and I looked since I knew there is no way for a stranger to get a hold of your email address unless you post it in a public place or unless the VJ database has been compromised. I don't believe the latter is true, so that leaves the former. This is a good example of why it is not a good idea to post private information in a public forum. Send an email to one of the moderators listed in the help section.

You're welcome.

Barbara, I've deleted the posted comment in lynJer's profile that contained your email address. It is always better to send information like that using the PM (private message) function as that is not seen publicly. Comments and responses on someone else's profiles are public, and unfortunately, some of the spammers are now resorting to those areas to post spam or solicit for vulnerable members. We have been cracking down on spammers elsewhere and they are trying to find ways to get around our crackdowns.

I would suggest you block the sender's address and perhaps report them to their ISP provider as a spammer. You could also try Niels Bohr's suggestion :P . (Good to see you again, btw!).

I'm also moving this thread to Site Discussion as it is perhaps a better location for this discussion and won't get lost in the other threads.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thankyou so much Kathryn I never even gave it a thought about other ppl seeing it on Lyns profile my bad big time as I am so usually very strict about these things. Deleted the email so can't send it on to Bohr but if I get any more will definitely send it on and report it.
