It's amazing what these men (and women) will do for the ones they love the most. My sweetheart did the same thing and when I think of all he gave up...the only home he's ever known...family and friends... the familiarity of his life...all this to come 2600 miles for me and this tiny little girl in our lives makes me well up with more emotion than I can explain. Makes me feel blessed. And loved. More than I ever expected to have in this life.

Yes, it counts Becca. It counts. :)

Hey becca, long time no see! I am happy for you and your hubby. One year. Wow! Me and my hubby celebrated our first year together back in August. Hang in there, things will get better, it just takes time. They always say the first year is the hardest and you aren't alone in that.

Becca,

I just now read this thread. I don't get on here as much as I used to. You know you and Wes are on pretty much the same timeline as me and Tony. It will be 1 wonderful year of marriage for us in October. I know your anniversary is also in October. I remember how encouraging you were when I was a nervous wreck the day of Tony's interview in London.

We have all gotten this far and it was not the easiest road anyone would have taken take given the choice. But it was all worth it to be together now.

Wes loves you very much. You guys are so inspiring. Don't let the frustrations of everyday life get you down. You are a great couple and I look forward to meeting you both one day. (F)

Thanks all. It means a lot to us.

We spent the evening at a football game - Wes was telling everybody it was his 'anniversary'. He took Friday and Saturday off. Saturday the kids have TWO parades and a band festival.

That's something else he did. Left Ireland a perpetual bachelor - arrived in the US a soon-to-be stepdad.

I wish there were more I could to to make his life better here. As I see it now, it's pretty much out of my hands and what will be, will be. All we can do is be what we promised to each other - steadfast partners in adventure and adversity....until the end of time.

Sounds like a good plan to me

Wow has it really been a year since Wes has been here? Gosh it doesn't seem that long. All that really matters is that you two are together and that you love each other very much. The rest is just gravy as they say.

I'm sure things will be the way you imagined. Just give it a little time. I can't say this from experience, (I hope I can someday) but I'm sure all your wishes and dreams will come true. Maybe it takes a little longer than you thought but just think how good it will be when it finally does. Think about how satisfied and content you will feel when things finally settle down. Knowing you both had to work through a few obstacles to get there. Well to me that is what being married is all about. Getting through the good times and the not so good times together. Have each other to love and lean on.

 Happy First Year Together Anniversary.
