Don't you use the Digicel international plan? It's Much cheaper for him to call you - about $14 for 16 hours of talk time in a month -

Wow, I didn't realize it was that inexpensive! He has a prepaid Digicel-can he get the international plan on a prepaid? I know he had a card to call unlimited a couple months ago and we talked a ton! I just assumed it must be expensive. I'll tell him to get it again! I don't think he realizes how much more expensive it is for me to call him.

Thank you so much for the info! It won't help the past calling card documentation issues, but it will certainly make calling more managable from here on out! Just switched to an international "value" plan on my cell so calls could be documented on bill...spent $30 talking to him yeasterday. Yhat's 2 MONTHS OF UNLIMITED on his side, way better deal

Digicel plan all the way! Plus you can 'top up' more than once a month, we do maybe three or four times. And you can go to ezetop.com and top up for him, then you have records of the top ups and money you spent and dates, ect. For me to call him, I use tel3.com which is a prepaid calling service and they keep records online of each call and duration, it's awesome! Not super cheap for me to call him so i just call and tell him to call me back!

Good luck with it all! I don't have phone records either, Net10 prepaid phone is what I have and they say you have to get a notarized statement saying why I want the records and send it in with pictures of the phone's serial number and then wait 30 days for them to process it!

It's insane that it'd be so difficult if not impossible to get your OWN phone records!:wacko:

Thanks, eagle+eyed! I will definately have him use the international plan! Can I order the plan for him online, or just top up once he has the plan? I agree, I was so frustrated with customer service on the phone. I pay plenty of money to use the card, and they act like I am out of line to ask for records. Oh well...I'll start doing it right now :D

mmmm I'm not sure how the initial top up goes? I think you can just go to ezetop.com and send the credit, $20 USD or whatever then he types in the code to make it international minutes. I believe this is the code that he types in after his phone gives him the message he received the credit ---> *134*5*1000#

I used a calling card for quite a long time until I realized the same thing. It was really a bummer as that was our primary means of communication because my fiance rarely had internet access and we couldn't often email. I then set up an account with an international service that kept logs of all the calls. By the time he had his interview, we only had about 2 1/2 months of records. I also sent copies of the calling cards themselves and the receipts for them (which don't count for anything, but just in case...). We were approved no problem.

However, I did also send whatever emails we did have, as well as all of our text messages - fortunately I did have a text service which not only logged the date/time of the texts, but the text messages themselves in full.

I used Ipipi - you can send/receive texts both on your computer and/or cell phone. And you can go to the website to print out a log of all text messages.

looking into this now because I'm sick of not being able to send a simple text message to call me instead of racking up minutes on credit through tel3 (who I think have been ripping me off the longer I use them)!!

Easy Solution.

1. Talk on GMAIL on your phone or voice call. It's free and convenient.

2. Under options on gmail > Save your chat conversations

3. Print them out for evidence.

4. Use Skype. It's free, and same concept. Save conversations, and print them when need to

Very simply.

I've always called my fiance with a calling card. I called the calling card company today and they told me I could not get records, if I wanted them I would have to contact an attorney. I immediately set up an international calling plan with my cell phone company (they provide records online), but I have no way to prove past calls from calling card. I have the calling card and proof that I used it on my cell records, but it does not show who the calls were actually made to. My petition is at NVC now, how long will it take until the interview? How many of months of phone records should be provided at the interview? Will the calling card and proof of use on phone records count for anything??? I'm so stressed!!!

Whatever you have will have to do. Try not to stress about what you cannot control (easier said than done I know). I would like to suggest to you though, I know cell phone companies usually charge an arm and a leg for international calls, I used Pingo to call my now husband and pingo gives you an online account and you are able to check your phone records for up to one year.

Sorry you have to deal with all of this, but I hope this helps. Good luck!
