I am preparing all the paperwork to start the I-130 application for my wife. We will get CR-1. But my research for the steps is showing outdated information (example: G-325a had four pages, but now only one page). So I am very confused.

USCIS Instructions for Form I-130, USCIS ask "A completed and signed Form G-325A, Biographic Information for you and a Form G-325A for your husband or wife." I see they ask for mine to be completed and signed, but they not say that my wife needs to sign hers.

1...My wife is in UAE now, I am in America now. Do I need my wife to mail me a G-325a with her signature? If not, do I sign "Signature of applicant"?

2...Do I send a G-325a of myself and a G-325a of my wife?

3...How many copies?

Now there is only 1 page, when I did mine it was only one page.

She has to sign it, you cannot sign for her. The way we did it was when my spouse was in my country we did multiple of those and she took it back with her.

Other option you have is you can provide her link and she can print and sign few copies and mail them to you.

The form available on the USCIS website (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=d7c84154d7b3d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD) is the latest form even though it states that it expires on 6/30/2011.

Submit just one form for you and one form for your alien spouse - you can not sign for your alien spouse (wait for your wife to sign and mail it to you).

My husband didn't sign his G-325A and we were approved with no problems.

Well an exception can not be a rule - in the sense that USCIS missed noticing that and approved your application without a RFE. I know of cases where the Us spouse just wrote his/ her spouse name for singature and it was accepted too.

If one wants to correct, one needs to get it signed by the right person.

4...Is it possible to save time, by sending the application with her not signed, then during the interview the embassy/consulate will have her sign it there?

Thank all for the continuing support.

A RFE delays by 15 days and the signed G325A may take 7 days. So I guess you should be fine in sending the G325A unsigned. Hopefully USCIS may not bother for her signature like in other cases and meanwhile get a couple of signed G325A forms and keep ready, in case.

I know of cases where the wife's name was written and her husband signed below her name for her. Since DS-230 provides almost the same information and more of the alien spouse, I guess USCIS may not be bothering about alien's details so much at I-130 stage. The Alien spouse details become important at the actual visa application (DS-230).

well my hubby fill out everything then email to me the form, then i print it and sign then email it to him..i think its better that it have a sign so then theres no prob.you never know right?

Well, if it was me in that situation, I would sign for my wife - like "for xxxxxx my sign", since I am the petitioner. When I went to a guys that fills out forms for other for a fee (before I decide to do it on my own), he said that it was perfectly alright for me to sign for my wife.

It's not the exception. It's actually the rule. The G325a need not be signed by a foreign spouse living abroad. However, if they are going to be mailing a passport photo that IS required, they might as well sign and mail the G325a at the same time. Yes, really. Take it to the bank. My advice for non-signed foreigner's G325a forms is to type "will sign at Consulate" in the signature field.

Well, since digital photos can be emailed and printed by the petitioner, it seems that NOT introducing a 'snail mail' delay and signing the G325a your way is the best approach.
