You have a conditional greencard now? You will need to remove conditions by yourself, showing you entered the marriage in good faith. You will also need to wait 5 instead of three years to become a US citizen.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Sorry to about your marriage difficulities.

if she started drinking a lot recently, may be she needs your help. May be there is something going on with her and she needs someone to stand by her. It seems you are not sure about the idea she is cheating on you. You stated that you have been in the US for just one year, and intercultural marriage takes long time and work from both partenrs to get over the cultural differences. I have been living with my wife 4 years now and we still working on our cultural differences. Divorce should be your last choice.

I have read several posts in the VJ forum about getting divorce on a conditional green card, and all stated as Penguin_ie said you need to show that you entered the marriage in a good faith. But I feel if you are going toward the divorce, you should have a professional advice, lawyer, as you are not familiar with the system in the US, just assuming, like me :) You do not not want to lose your green gard.

wish you luck,

Best

 what goes around, comes around, right?

Why did she start drinking a lot after she worked hard to bring you to the US? She supposed be happy to accomplish this for her husband. I think she has discovered or realized something about you which made her start drinking more, and you instead of helping her, you are asking to get married from another woman after the divorce . I smell something fishy too!!

Your logic really does not follow. Just because a person drinks alcohol it does not mean that the person will cheat. Yes, you should have probably taken the opportunity to know your woman better before you married her. As far as your question goes, why the hurry to marry some other woman after divorcing your current wife?

Why not get divorced first and enjoy your singlehood before getting back into such a commitment? Or have you already met someone you are wanting to marry?

I have to say, I am highly offended by this stereotipical comment. I drink and have gotten drunk and I'm proud to say that I have NEVER cheated on anyone. Just as recent as last night, I had a couple of glasses of wine with friends in my apartment. My fianceé "joined" us through skype. Hee knows I'd never cheat on him and viceversa. All that said, I think the problem is in your head. I agree with everyone else: this smells not fishy, but rotten. I believe you're the one cheating and looking for a lame a$$ excuse to divorce her so you can remarry your new victim.

Good luck.

Hello Majid, sorry to hear about your situation, the flag here was when you are already thinking of marrying another woman so you can stay here when you just claimed you left your country for her not America. If i were you I would focus on ONE THING AT A TIME, which is to put your energy into trying to safe your relationship. Good luck and I sincerely hope things work out for you.

Cheers
