hi guys...

so my husband and i files for cr1 in june.noa1 dated june 13th. we have a one and a half year old son together who already has his crba and us paaaport and ss number. we r preggers again with a second son :) and my due date is the 22 of november 2011.i highly doubt we'll b in the us by then so my question is: is our only option for baby to come to the us is getting his crba too?

just want to cover all options as the crba in my country takes a while with the beauracracy of a long wait for birth certificate and then dad being here and then another 6 weeks for actual passport in hand...

Since the child has claims to US citzenship he will not be issued a visa. If you give birth overseas, crba is the way to g

I assume you are the US citizen, you can birth in the US

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

IF the parent is a US Citizen ... the birth abroad must be reported to the consular.. she has no choice if the child is to travel back to the US even if she is a US Citizen (well that's what qualified her)

If she is the USC, then there would be no need for a CRBA.

If the baby is born outside the US there is a need to do a CRBA as long as the US citizen meets the residency requirements

There are no other options. The child will be a US citizen. A CRBA and US Passport are required.
