I think they will stamp your passport with a temporary visa that is valid for 6 months before you get your real green card in the mail. So yeah from the date you are approved, you have 6 months to POE.

I knew that, but I feel like it would look bad if I waited a few weeks/a month. I don't see how one could be judged though since we have a 6 month window. Ah well.

Why would it look bad? You are allowed it. If they ask something at the border just say the truth? I think you are over stressing :D

DO NOT WORRY, YOU HAVE 6 MONTHS TO BE ABLE TO CROSS THE BORDER, smile.gif

SO GIVE A REASONABLE TIME IN 6 MONTHS, THEY KNOW THAT WE HAVE THINGS TO SELL LIKE HOME, FURNITURE, CARS, ETC

NO NEED TO CROSS THE BORDER NEXT DAY THAT YOU RECEIVE YOUR VISA, no0pb.gif

YOU CAN WAITING ANYTHING YOU WANT, BUT NO MORE THAN 6 MONTHS.laughing.gif

I'm new here, so forgive me if I get anything stupidly wrong!

I married my now wife USC on July 1, we filed the I-130 on July 22, with a priority date of July 25.

It was approved on August 18, a total of 24 days. From everything I read I was expecting this to take 4-5 months. Am I dreaming or did the timeline somehow get cut by several months???

Oh wow! SO lucky. Did you ask your case to be expedited!? If not then wow... I hope we will all be as lucky as you are!

In case you are wondering, from what i've read on the forums it does happen from time to time to be that fast. Congrats!
