09 July I-130 Sent

11 July Receipt Notice from USPS

I still haven't seen my NOA1 notice. :(

Most people have it within 2 days.

to do list:
file i-130, petition for alien relative
get immigrant visa
get ssn card and green card
get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)
become a US citizen

What I mean is, why are they allowed to not do our petitions roughly in chronological order? Dealing with a large group later rather than sooner does nothing to lessen the total number of petitions.

11 July Receipt Notice from USPS

I still haven't seen my NOA1 notice. :(

Most people have it within 2 days.

Give it a minute :) and I noticed that my actual NOA1 date was 7/8 but the message didn't come til 7/11.

Guessing this might be the right forum.

Sent I-130 26th June by express mail to Chicago. Signed for by Chicago 28th June.

Asked for email to confirm. So far heard nothing :-(

July 2010 - Hubby and our children moved back to USA (for work etc)

Nov 2010 - Visited for 3 weeks (it hurts like mad to be away from them)

June 2011 - visited for 4 weeks

26th June 2011 -I-130 Express Mail to Chicago

28th June 2011- I-130 Chicago signed for package

12th July - Returned to UK..

29th June 2011 - USCIS informed me Noa1 mailed on 29th June

2nd July 2011 - Touched

8th August 2011 - Expedite approved

12th August 2011 - Touched

12th August 2011 - The dreaded RFE!

9th September 2011 - RFE received by CSC - being reviewed!

13th September 2011 - USCIS approved

19th September 2011 - NVC received file.

4th October 2011 - NVC # assigned, emailed dob amendment email (amended now), emailed DS-3032, Logged into payment portal (not invoiced), booked medical - 20th October

5th October 2011 - Emailed expedite

6th October 2011 - 2 emails from NVC (expedite and ds-3032 responses)

- SIF at payment portal.

7th October 2011 - expedite approved

12th October 2011 - case left NVC (nice birthday present!)

13th October 2001 - case arrived in UK

20th October 2011 - Medical - passed

24th October 2011 - DS-230 & DS-2001 received by Embassy

3rd November 2011 - interview - approved

4th November 2011 - text message from courier, saying they are delivering on Monday

7th November 2011 - Visa received

So I guess as not hearing anything you worry..especially after my last experience!

But anyone heard of the packet being sent back before Noa1 is recieved? Or do they normally at least send a Noa1 before a RFE...if necessary

I guess my case is not the usual...as I have a SSN already and Tax number..and even a A# number..which we documented on the new I-130

I just want to be with my family ASAP!

Try calling USCIS or email them and ask about your case.

Thank you for the advise. I contacted USCIS who after a few attempts finally got through to someone.

Anyway, evidently my NOA1 was mailed out on 29th June 2011, they didn't send an email..not sure why as we completed the form.

Another question...how do you know when your file has been 'touched'?

Anyway, the waiting begins, although as we have previous issues, I might try for an expedite in a few days

I went to the USCIS website this morning... My file has been touched again. That makes twice in the last 8 days! It's good to know that it's just not sitting on someones desk. CSC had been moving pretty fast, some cases have been approved in 7-11 weeks! I hope they keep it up! COME ON NOA2 :dance: :dance:

Go to the USCIS website and set up an account so that you can check the progress of your case. You have to enter your case number which is on your NOA1 letter.

Thats a good thing even though two weeks has past, you now know that someone did something to your file.
