Evidence of marriage

Hello all -

I have a question regarding filing for AOS.

Do you have to provide evidence of marriage ( pics, back statements, etc. ) when initially filing the I-485? Or do you do this when going to the interview?

I would suggest to follow the instructions for filling I-485 and include the evidence with the AOS package. This way, you diminish your risks of getting a request for evidence (RFE) which slows down the process and delays your papers getting to you.

Hmmm...

I didn't find the part in the I-485 that asked for evidence of marriage.

So, you included all evidence with your I-485? We don't have a lot of evidence at the moment since we have not been married that long. But, perhaps we can file some now and take more later for the interview.

All I sent was my marriage certificate save those for the interview (if you get one!) The i485 does not say to include evidence so we didn't

You didn't find the instructions to include evidence with the I-485 because it's not there. The poster must have been thinking of a I-130.

K-1 visa holders do not need to include evidence of marriage except for the marriage certificate
