Obama says gay couples deserve same rights as all

What exactly is "gay #######" and why were your 4 and 6 year olds doing it?

They were holding hands and and saying bs ####### to each other while in the register line...right in front of my nephews. I'm not going to put up with that #######. Different stroked for different folks, but they can do that sh*t somewhere else where people thinks it's ok to do it right in public in front of little kids.

That's called a "no class post" by mawilson.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

If they had migrated to Canada, you wouldn't have had this problem in Seattle. Canada has GREAT INFRASTRUCTURE for SSM, as well as Industries that prefer to hire them (IT, Movie Production) so it's a win win for them to go.

I'm getting the impression that you really really think it would be a good idea for all the Gays to go to Canada.

Is my impression correct? :star:

Why should they go to Canada when they can stay right here in the US and become Boy Scout troop leaders and such. Yay for everyone that says give em more rights and btw let my kids go on a camping trip with them.

One wonders which was of greater damage to your nephews - a socially permissable public display of affection, or the notion (from their assigned authority figure, no less) that it is eminently reasonable to threaten with violence anyone whom you happen to dislike, and demand with said threat that they conform to your personal view of society.

Are your nephews gay now? Man, I read your rants and realize I can't put down as much food as I want to throw up.

Willful ignorance aside, the thread title refers to "gay couples", to which your pernicious and cretinous (il)logic does not apply.

I'm not willfully ignorant of anything. I understand what the thread title is trying to imply and am disputing it.

The problem with your couple argument is that couples as a group don't have rights. Individuals have rights. Some of those rights pertain to their ability to make agreements and relationships with other individuals who have the same rights. But that doesn't mean the couple has rights as a group beyond those afforded to its individual members.

Problem is that they're not wired that way. The right to marry an opposite sex partner is as meaningless to them as a right to marry a same sex partner would be to you. Of course, you know that but like to pretend otherwise. What would we be without a bit of discrimination and bigotry?

I don't have to pretend anything. The right to marry an opposite sex partner may be meaningless to them but why does that matter? Most people find some of the rights that they have irrelevant. Similarly, most potential rights, if offered, would be considered irrelevant by a certain portion of the population.

Some people like guns. Other people like Marijuana. One is illegal in most states while the other isn't. That doesn't mean that one group is afforded more rights than the other. Both have the same rights. Those rights are just more valued by one group than the other.

If preference is taken into consideration, anyone can claim discrimination if he or she wants something that the law does not afford them, so long as there is someone else who doesn't want that thing. There is no analogous situation where preference is considered when determining if something is discriminatory.

NP there...it runs in the family. Probably why everyone in the family is hetrosexual and not sexually confused like most of your ultra libs.

What kind of bs #######? That is, how graphic? On a scale of 0-10, where 0 is lame chit like "you complete me" and 10 could pass for something straight out of gay porn.

All I know is that a few years back when I was in Seattle for a visit two of em were doing gay ####### in the line at McDonalds when I had my two nephews with me who were ages 4 and 6 at the time. I asked them if they didn't stop it they could have their choice of getting their arses kicked out in the parking lot or right there on the spot.

No, you didn't. You're pulling a Paul here.

Because marriage is a basic human right in this country. The SCOTUS, prior to becoming a corporate #######, has made that clear time and again. Obviously, marriage for a same-sex couple will have to be marriage to a same-sex partner. As long as they are denied that right, they are deprived of a basic human right. The case is working it's way up to the SCOTUS and same-sex marriage will prevail. You can live in the past for the rest of your life and yet, the future is still upon us.
