May lose job before NOA2 - what to do?

There's a 50/50 chance that I won't be able to keep my job long enough to get the NOA2 and then have the letter from company saying I still work there. I have plenty of income the last 3 years, and even enough income this year. But, is that sufficient? Will they insist my employment be current even though I may very well end up between jobs for a while?

I don't have enough assets alone to qualify. My savings is just 6 months living expenses, and my house's mortgage is underwater. There is no chance in a million years that I can get a co-sponsor... my relatives are not happy enough with what I'm doing to ever be willing to co-sponsor.

So, it sounds like I'm SOL if I lose my job?

Under this situation, the best thing to do is to find another job as quickly as possible. You should seriously consider finding a co-sponsor too.

GOOD LUCK

I may very well be in the same boat. But for differant reasons. Strike or lock out is very likely stay positive if it happens. There is work out there for those who truly want to work . May not be what you want long term but jobs can be found

So sorry to hear this... if the worst does happen, I hope you're able to find a new job very soon.

Any luck a friend of yours could be a joint sponsor with you?

Nope, all my friends are poor. (Really.) I have no siblings, an old mother who is also poor, and no other relatives I would consider.

The job market for a software developer is terrible now... I rarely hear of a job opening out there.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I imagine you might of already thought of this and it might be the same case. However, have you tried something like a help desk? I'm assuming if you are a software developer you are also qualified to do that as well. Or I would suggest even looking outside your field. I understand that is a bit down from what you might be used to but it might get you done. Also help desk is getting you into the door. I have a friend that started at help desk and now is a programmer for the same company. Just a thought. Good luck.
