Ok, so here is the review of my husband's interview in Boston! He got there around 2:15 I think (appt at 2:30). They took him around 3pm and by 3:15 I had a text from him saying he had passed the test. He said it was very serious when he was in there, but pretty straight forward. They had a HUGE file on us from the past 5 years of sending information in! After the testing, writing, reading he had to wait about 40 minutes for the oath date, which was October 13th. Unfortunately, we will be in Florida and unable to do the oath that day, so he wrote in when he was available and we have to wait for the oath date in the mail. Hopefully it's not held up too long! I was shocked the date they gave us was only 2 weeks away too! If you have any questions or I missed anything, let me know! Also, only 6 questions because he got them all correct in a row.

Questions:

Name a state that borders Canada.

How many Senators are there?

What ocean is on the East Coast?

What is freedom of religion?

When was the Constitution written?

What age must someone enroll in the selective service?

That's pretty neat (except for the oath date conflict). In any case - congratulations again! Major milestone passed and now a smaller one to come.

So my wife finished quite awhile ago, but her case status is still showing up in the "Testing" status.

Has anyone else who has already taken the Oath experienced this?

I think it is nothing to be concerned about. I believe the system is updated manually once the case is in the interview phase and beyond so they do not necessarily do their due diligence...

Hey guys,

I had my interview yesterday in Pittsburgh and... It was the funniest day of our lives. This is a long story but funny if you want to read it...

We were supposed to wake up at 2:30 am and get ready since we had a 3.5 h drive ahead of us, but of course we didn't roll out of bed until 3:21 (strange...). I ran to the kitchen (i can't function without my coffee) and on my way downstairs i snatched the iPod to go through the questions again. My hubby told me i was making to much noise so after a mean look on my end, i slammed the door behind me and went on the front porch. Next info is gross and what i call "too much information", but i will share it anyway...I started reading the questions and i felt sick to my stomach, i guess you all know what happened next... oh lord, my poor flowers (it's important because the only times i threw up was when i was pregnant with my 2 kids - and NO, i'm not pregnant again, i was just way to nervous).

I took a fast shower, gave my husband the second mean look of the day, told him to get his bottom in the shower and I woke up the kids. Even if i was scared of this moment, everything went great. They didn't complain and behaved like angels. I finally got ready and we were off the door at 5:00 am sharp.

The drive was smooth until we hit the last 6 miles. Dead stop traffic because of an accident. I was watching the "arriving at destination time" on the GPS and it felt like i was going crazy with each "update". In no miles (i should say) it went from 8:29am all the way up to 8:55 am. When in a desperate attempt to calm me down, my husband said "We are ok, it doesn't matter if we are a little late!" i had my breaking point.

At 9:00 we were waiting at the last red light 0.2 miles away from the office (according to the GPS ) and i grabbed my high heels to put them on, when i realized my tights had run threads from my heal all the way up (i have no idea how this happened). There was only one thing i could do!!! Take them off. I looked at the car stoped beside my window. Thank God it was a woman! I could hear my husband asking me what the heck i was doing while the lady stoped beside me looked like her eyes would pop out of her head. We arrived at destination according to our stupid GPS but it was not the place (imagine that). Thank God for Google Maps Street View because i looked around and saw the actual building. We got in the parking lot and my door was open before my husband was done parking. I told him to leave his darn cell in the car and MOOOVE... FASTER (he is an angel and smiling told me "really? here in the parking lot in front of the kids?")

Now... the true interview experience...

We walked through the front door at 9:02. We were greeted by 3 smiling security people. One of them asked for the letter and we walked through the metal detector... We took the elevator to the next level, walked 50 ft and saw the interview room waiting area. There were 18 chairs (my husband said) and i just froze in the door since i had no idea what to do. A lady ( that was working there) told me to "place your letter at that window" and pointed to it. I did so, and found 4 chairs, but my husband was already seated somewhere else so, i sat behind him. I wanted to ask him if he will go see if the kids need to use the bathroom while i was taking the interview since i knew the "demons" would scream for mommy, but he didn't want to come sit beside me. So, with a sweet smile i told him "we will talk about it when we get back home". I wasn't done "smiling" when the door opened and a smiling man called my name.

he introduced himself, invited me in his office, i asked him if i needed my husband DL (he said no).

He swore me in and asked for the letter, GC and my DL. He started asking questions from the file (name, address, phone number).

Then he said "i know your family is in the waiting room, but, now you have to prove to me that you are married and living with your husband". I showed him the house insurance, car insurance, health insurance, a letter from the bank and some rewards letters from the bank (my name doesn't show up on the statement), the only CC that i have with my husband, again, doesn't show my name (but i printed a page of the website - the page where you can add names to the account) and added a change in policy letter that magically had both our names on it, our paypall account statement (do i need to say it? my name doesn't show up in the statements), then the medical spending account cards statement, and of course the tax transcripts. ALL THIS WAS FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS. He looked at them and gave them back to me.

After this he only asked me how many kids i have and he went to the YES and NO questions (he didn't ask them all).

When he was done with the questions he asked me to sign the N-400.

He reached under his desk and grabed 4 pieces of paper and told me "Now, we will start the second part of the test".

Reading:What state has the most people?

Writing: California has the most people.

History and Civics:

1. What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

2. Who is in charge of the executive branch?

3. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

4. There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

5. What is one reason colonists came to America?

6. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States?

I signed another paper and then he gave me the N-652 "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval."

He said I will have the Oath on October 28th at a Courthouse that is about 30 mins away from where we live and that i will get the letter in the mail in the next 14 days.

That was it! I walked out and a desperate father/ husband said "Thank God you are back! These kids are impossible! Where do we have to go next?" I told him "Next, we have to go home,i already had the interview and i passed" he thought i was joking. LOL

When we were walking out the front door i asked him what time it was... 9:14am... We got back home at 2:30ish, since we hit more traffic on the way back. On the way home i changed my suit for a comfy pair of jeans in a gas station parking lot (because their restroom was just too nasty). We also had to stop at a Rest Area because my 5 year old boy needed to use the bathroom after eatting McDonald's. I had a hard time keeping a straight face while my son was using the ladies room. Since it was really busy, a sweet old lady (that worked there), would tell women when something was free using this expresion "I can take one in the front, please! I can take one in the back, please! I can take two in the front, please! i can take one in the front and one in the back, please !" When i told my hubby he started laughing and told me i had a dirty mind...

Last night I was just to exhausted to get online and share my experience with you, but here i am now! LOL

Mine was always updated. Like what V33k said, I also think it is manually updated. So it comes down to the local office doing the updates
