I was thinking the other day, because Im going stir crazy sitting at home all day, that it would be nice to get out and meet people.

I saw a post for some people in Houston going out for dinner this weekend, and was pleasantly surprised to see that I wasnt the first to think of doing it.

Anyone in or around the Dallas area interested in a meet up ? Dinner sounds good, or any other ideas ?

No, they are having dinner in Houston. Thats about a 4 hour drive from Dallas. Its just that I was thinking of doing something like that just the other day, and seeing that someone from somewhere else did already, I figured it would be ok if I did too.

Texas is a big place.

Dallas Area ? I am fan of hitting TukTuk downtown, friday evenings, circa 7:30, getting special red curry with duck (not exactly on the menu) in a huge bowl with noodles. Nirvana.

Yah we have our Houston dinner in 2 1/2 hrs. We did a mini one back in 2009 here in Houston too... its best to get the word out way ahead of time and get an idea of when the better time is for most people and get it set. Facebook has a VisaJourney group of 700+ peeps on it so if you're a part of that in Facebook you can create an event like I did and invite the whole group and anyone around Dallas will get an invite.

Friday evening? circa 7 PM ? 12/02/2011

I'll have a table, look for the namecard with 'VisaJourney' on it.

All are welcome.

This is very impromptu, add hoc. If you can't make it, it's ok.

Oh Lord. Smallish Report from Friday Tuk Tuk.

Was there at 7:05, stayed till 8:45...

Somethings wrong with this place now - the cook was bringing stuff out of a freezer, unsure if precooked and frozen.

Crappy Service, Waitress not know the menu, cook only spoke spanish (where's the other cook that speaks mandarin??)

and

the food was horrible.

So - thanks for not showing up - you've saved yerself some gastrinomical nightmares.

On the lighter side (pun intended) - WOW - downtown Dallas was all lit up for the Saturday Parade - I've not seen lights like this, here, ever. Gorgeous...

I'm now thinking of a Plano Event, soonish. Will post something this upcoming week, prolly a Friday evening bash/nosh.

Well, see, I didn't even see your reply because, sadly, I did not sign in for notifications. Hubby and I would of gladly shown up for Tuk Tuk's fiasco at being the "coolest place in Downtown", and since I speak Spanish maybe it wouldn't of been such a disorientated night LOL. I have now subscribed!

How was the Plano event? -we live just a couple of blocks away from Plano (In North Dallas)-

December was lovely with all the lighting, I loved the ones that were lit all the way up in Preston.
