Yay! Hubby finally got interview date - July 26th. Scheduled 11 days after my case was complete at the NVC. Seems a bit far away, but I'm happy  Gives us time to organize the medical. Question about chickenpox (varicella): do they require you to get titers to prove you're immune, or can you just tell them that you had chickenpox as a child? It seems they would know that most people over a certain age would have had the disease. Titers are really expensive and it seems outrageous to get a vaccine for something that you're immune to.

My husband had his medical and spent @ 12000 rupees... he told them he had chicken pox as a child and they did a chest x ray and blood work..he had no other vaccines other than tetanus and hepitis so I'm not sure but im thinking the titre test was included with the blood work. Call around to the medical centers they recommend...one of them is saying 20000 but definitely call and go to the one with the better cost...

And congrats on your interview date!!!!!!

got my medical done last week and was asked if i had ever had them and a simple yes was enough (didnt have my chicken pox scars at all ;) )

not sure if all deocs in all countries are the same - but anyway, if u get the medical done early and they really wanted u to get the shot, then u can get it done quickly and still not delay ur visa. thats what i had thought too. titer tests r pretty expensive, thats why i didnt do it.
