That's a standard answer but yeah some ppl get it quickly and others don't it all depends on several things like how many cases are sent at that time...if its a lot then it may take a little longer. We got our case number in about a week. Just keep calling the automated recording and checking daily...as soon as you get your case number call right back and tell them your emails...then you can do most of the stuff via email....

good luck and hopefully soon you will get your numbers...inshALLAH... :)

I am wondering the same thing. You got your NOA2 long ago, I recieved mine on May 31st and I'm crying about it already. I 've spent sooooo much time preparing all the paperwork they want and say I must have, and now I have to sit and wait on them to input the USCIS app in the compture b4 I can give them another $400!! Its horrible. It seems that the person that opens it, should put it in the system, assign the case number, and generate your bill! Whew! Just had to vent a little bit there....... LOL!!

I think we all felt the same way when our time came for NVC to assign our numbers too...just hang in there it won't be too long and then you will be thru with NVC in a blink of an eye (at least compared to USCIS time frames) then onto interview... :)

Based on your timeline, I am guessing your case hasen't been entered in NVC system yet? Though usually it takes 1-2 weeks for many, for certain reasons this may take little longer. I would recommend you call everyday and may be someday you will meet a kind person who will shed more light than standard "quote" they memorized. And by the way, by being pro-active with NVC, you can make up the time you think you've lost. I mean believe me, with tips from many, I completed by whole NVC part (from getting in the system to final approval) in one month one day. So continue calling NVC everyday at different time and before talking to an agent, check the AVR system first :-). You probably do that anyway :-)

I know at one time they were getting backlogged with cases...it could be this issue again...keep trying daily to call NVC and see if they have a case number. That's really all you can do for now. I pray you hear somthing soon

Salaam,

We received our NOA letter on November 13th, 2016 and supposedly it was sent to the NVC and we are waiting on our case number. How long does this step take? I'm thinking its because of the holiday weekend that slowed it down. Any positive thoughts? Sorry I'm just nervous and if anyone understands I know it would be you all.
