Barcode's

I was wondering if the Barcode's only applied to the DS3032.. I emailed this and was already accepted. So no bar code needed. Does I-864 or DS230 need ???

My understanding is that the barcode sheet needs to be on top of all packets, including I864 and DS230. NVC asks to include it, stating that it speeds up the process of getting the info into their system. For us, the NVC included the barcode sheet in their correspondence to us, and instructed to return that sheet with the packet to be sent.

Where you get the barcodes.. I have received nothing from NVC.. Just emails and My I-864 is paid and the $404 visa fee is paid.. They have never mentioned anything about barcodes

The barcodes will be available at the payment portal site once each bill appears as PAID. It's called 'document cover sheet' on the site.

I found and printed.. Do you attach the whole sheet or just half the sheet with the address and barcode??

Yes, attach the whole sheet. Make sure it's the first page in the package.

They ignore the table of contents, but it is a good thing to do since it forces us to be organized and reduce the possibility of forgetting something.

I used to work at IBM and they beat into our heads that presentations are for the presenter--not the audience--meaning that it forces us to be totally prepared--ditto with the entire immigration process.

But be sure to separate the two packages--maybe by using separate clips--since they are sent to totally different parts of NVC for review.

Some people send the AOS and IV together, some send them separately. It's up to you.

You have to include the AOS cover sheet to the AOS package and you have to include the IV cover sheet to the IV package.

If you do send them together, like magical said, make sure they're clearly separate, ie paperclips or put them in their own envelopes within the larger envelope.

And a table of contents is always a good idea, but don't assume that the reviewing officer will look at it.

my suggestion is to send it in two folders but same package... i sent same time but two separate packages and my aos was separated from my ds230 for about a week and I was getting false rfe;s for it...once it finally got into the system they closed the case and did the final review on the same day. I had quite a bit of documentation as well so i also used the post it self labels on the bottom of each section and labled it clearly with divorce papers, assets, beneficiary for life ins., etc...

Can i give you one more idea? lol I hated having to label each and every paper with our case number in the top right corner..I had surgery on my hands so it makes my hand hurt to write for a lengthy time... sooo. I purchased small avery address labels and used the pc to print off case number labels and attached to each top right hand corner worked like a charm and every copy I made for my husband and backup for me had it neatly copied ....only problem was my 7 yr old had stickers on her bum
