Where did you go? I'm in the SOCAL'ish area and need to find the right place in case we get an RFE. Sonoko and I decided to not do the I-693. If you just read the I-485 instructions, it is pretty vague, just saying to provide vaccination verification with the package. So hopefully the stuff from her medical will be sufficient!

It will be interesting to see where this goes for everyone!!

Mari... I wish you were a CS, I would make the extra travel for that! LOL So far I'm just not too happy about the ones around here! BLAH!

This is the CS I went to. The nurse was very nice and easy to talk to. They charge $30 for the supplemental I-693.

Thanks!!! I will keep that in mind in case we get and RFE, and have a good reason lined up to make that trip!

So the city i'm from has 30 Civil Surgeons :o. I'm assuming at least one of them has been through the immigration process because on his website it says he'll do either a full exam or just provide the vaccines you need (like Varicella, or MMr). I'm thinking...sweet! That's the only thing my FI is missing...ChickenPox =\

Holy Cow! 30?!? Yeah, you should be able to find someone reasonable. I've called a dozen within a 2 hour drive of where I am (nearest one is a one hour drive) and struck out every time. Good luck and can't wait to hear the story and results!!

hello all!

I have started putting together my AOS papers.

One question:

What is the Alien Registration Number? where do i find it?

Does anyone have a sample of what they wrote on their AP as the reason why they need an AP?

I dont have any particular trips plan, but i would like to have my AP at hand.

Hi everyone,

I was 20 minutes late (I couldn't believe it, the trolleys were traveling sooooo slow) even though I left home 2 hours before my appointment...

So I was very worried when I finally arrived at the facility, and I told them I was late and sorry, but they smiled and said that it's not a problem  phew!

There were many people, so I had to wait for 40 minutes or so, until my number was called.

Overall, it was not bad.. except for the heat! (I think it was the hottest day I ever had in San Diego, and two and a half hours travel each way was enough for me to be BAKED...)

Here are the answers to your questions (to the best of my knowledge):

  1. Your Alien Registration number is the A number. It can be found on your NOA2 in the beneficiary's section. It starts with the letter 'A' then followed by a 9-digit number.
  2. The sample you're looking for is http://www.visajourn...31-Qualify.doc. You can find this and other examples at http://www.visajourn...ontent/examples
  3. I'm planning on saying something like this for Part 7 of form I-131this: No specific plan of travel outside the United States at this time. This application is in preparation for emergency travel to attend to family members outside the United States only.

Again, those are my personal thoughts. Hope someone more experienced would jump in and help :)

Very glad that you're done with biometrics and moving forward!! :) Does that mean your DS-3025 was accepted and no RFE for an I-693? I sure hope so because that's what I plan on doing for my fiancee's AOS package when the time comes :)

Thanks bobbyA:)

but nah, there is still a possibility that they may send us an RFE anytime, until my interview is scheduled.

my case is not even in their "check status" system yet! (someone told me that his case was never be in there either, but they completed his interview...) We will just wait and see  hahaha

Totally agree with you! We were looking to say close to the same for our documents. So happy to see us all working together. Our wedding isn't for another month, but we'll be closely following behind when we prepare our documents. :)

Good Morning all, here I am, a married and living in MN! The wedding was fantastic, all that I could of asked for. Adjusting to living here on the other hand is a bit challenging. Things are better a week later, but the first week of unpacking was not fun and being restricted to the USA is more upsetting to me than I thought it would be. But......the good news is that I love Michael with all my heart and soul and he has been wonderfully patient with me as I settle in. We also received our marriage license in the mail on Saturday (imagine mail on Saturday lol). We will go make copies tomorrow and start on the AOS paperwork so that I can be free to visit my family whenever I want!

Have an awesome day everyone!

We applied for the SSN 2 weeks after he got into the country. Mostly because it was free and it makes getting a bank account easier. :)

Okay, I must be burnt out from paperwork...what am I missing...I had 6 current passport photos taken, I saw on the 1-485 that they want 2 passport photos, where do the other 4 go? Also I want to clarify, do we mail this package to the Chicago Lockbox?

USCIS

ATTN: FBAS

131 SOUTH DEARBORN, 3RD FLOOR

CHICAGO, IL 60603-5517

The last question for today: is it recommended to add a copy of the SS-5 application?

I hope to send this out Friday,

Thanks for the guidance,

Lise

Hi Lise,

I just sent out my AOS application last Monday.

1. The 4 other passport photos go to the EAD and the AP. So, 2 photos for I-485 / 2 photos for EAD / 2 photos for AP. (But, EAD and AP are optional)

2. There are 2 addressed you can send your AOS to, depends on how you mail it: (This is in the USCIS website)

link : address

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS) deliveries:

USCIS

PO Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS

Attn: FBAS

131 South Dearborn - 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60603-5517

3. I didn't include the SS-5, but went straight to the Social Security Office.

Hope this helps out!
