FINALLY!!! My husband had his oath ceremony last Thursday!! So glad to be all done with USCIS FOREVER!!! :D

So I took the oath today! The ceremony, in the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side (the first event on the occasion of its reopening) was lovely and I was moved by the warmth with which we were welcomed as new citizens by the judge, the USCIS officials, and especially the museum representatives. I will never forget it.

N-400

5-12-11: N-400 package mailed

5-18-11: check cashed

5-17-11: NOA date

6-14-11: biometrics date (missed notice + appointment due to travels)

6-16-11: fingerprints done

7-25-11: interview letter date

8-31-11: interview

9-20-11: oath!!!!

So I took the oath today! YEAAAY! OK, so got my oath letter today as I got approved finally!

My oath is scheduled for the 14th of October. This will be the happiest day of my life!!!! Wish the same to all of you!

I have forgotten to update my status over here...but I see my name is gone I think.

I started the journy of naturalization on 5/5/11, my interview was done on 9/20/11 and I am waiting for my oath ceremony. Unfortunately my interview was in the afternoon so already the cutover for the day was done and I have to wait for the oath letter in the mail :( But I am happy that at least I am done with the interview! My city is Atlanta.

I had my oath ceremony today! Please update me as a U.S. Citizen! :D

This was a special added ceremony at the district office and I learned they had another one in the morning as well. I think there were about 40 or 50 people at mine this afternoon.

It was a moving and inspiring ceremony. The officer read a story about the writing of the Star Spangled Banner and asked us to pay attention to the words when we sing it. They played Lee Greenwood's “I'm Proud to be an American” video. It was so nice to be addressed as a citizen by President Obama.

When the judge shook my hand and gave me my certificate, he said, “I like your tie”, as I was wearing one with an American flag on it. :lol:

We were given a packet with a flag, cardboard cover for the certificate, an application for the passport, a citizens almanac, copy of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. We had a great service after our ceremony. A representative from Social Security was there to take our form to save us a trip to their office.

I was at the local passport office in time to turn in my application but the worker did not show up today so I will have to get to my post office tomorrow.

It has been a long journey but I have come to the end for me. :dance: But I will still deal with USCIS a little longer as I still have children back home that I want to bring to the US. :(
