I'm a us citizen. I'm petitioning both my parents. They're in Guatemala.

On November 22, 2010 - Received notice showing status as under INITIAL REVIEW at a USCIS office. It's been 5 months already and I haven't received a decision yet. Should I call CSC or keep waiting? please advise.

Thank you

it's normal for the 1-130 the estamate times about 8 to 10 months or longer, if you want to call you can, it's like a record call back in 30 days, then after that another 30 days. good luck.

your looking at the 1-129f k-1 visa it's estamated time is 5 to 6 months...the 1-130 is more like 8 to 10 months or longer, if you up date your time line, we can answer more better.

Congrats, I am almost in the same stage, I have files for my parents and status check on USCIS website shows approved. I have not received any letters yet. Do you know what are the next steps?

Sorry for my late reply.

This is what's been happening lately:

A month after my I 130 approval NVC gave me a case number for each parent. (I called every week)

Next I sent NVC an e-mail providing my e-mail address for future communication

Then a week after I sent my e-mail address they e mailed me a letter with the DS 3032 as an attachment for my parents to complete

They completed the form and e mailed it back

It was accepted

A week after that, they e mailed them two invoices. One to pay the AOS and the other to pay the Visa application fee

I'm not paying those fees yet since I cannot find a co-sponsor since I don't qualify.....SAD....
