Last year we bought the Canon Rebel T1i and I am in love! It came with the basic 18-55mm lens, and I'm looking at another lens or two. If you're in to photography (professionally, or just as a hobby) what lenses would you recommend as your top 3?

I would suggest a Canon 18-200mm to go with that since you already have the basic lens to go with it

I shoot professionally.

I have the same lens as what kunlesseun is taking about. It cost me round about $700 bucks. I have my Canon Rebel T2i.

If you are not willing to pay for this much, grab yourself with 28-135mm for about $480

I shoot as a freelance Photographer for a local newspaper.

I have nude pics of myself if anyone is interested.

I told you the idea of using my upskirt camera was to shoot pictures of other people, not yourself.

BTW, I'd kill to be able to afford some of the stuff the other posters in this thread have but I'd probably end up taking lots of pictures with my finger over the lens. :P

A buddy of mine has a Canon 5D MkII with a nice complement of L lenses, 85mm f1.2, 50mm, f1.2, 135mm f2. I hate him.

If it makes you feel any better, I hate him, too. You'd have a nice camera like that if you didn't waste $500 going to see Steve Grogan and John Hannah make rude noises at the symphony.

I'm into photography, but it's just a hobby...

I use a Nikon though and I only have 2 lenses - the basic 18-55mm and a 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor - for portraits. I want to buy a telephoto lens, but I gues I'll wait till I come to the States, cause they're sooo much cheaper there.

I have a decent 35mm set up, Canon A2 and couple of lenses, but not that super fast L quality. The sad thing is, I'd have to get a 5D to get a full frame sensor DSLR. The body is about $2400. Or maybe I should use the money I made selling the Hemi Cuda for 6 digits. Oh wait, I didn't buy it.

I think my next purchase will be the 50mm (heard they're great for kids/portraits/etc) and then save up for the bi 18-200mm, which I've also heard is a great "every day" lens!

Thanks for the tips!

I have a Sony HX1. It's no DSLR, but I'm happy with it for the time being. I guess it would be considered an ultrazoom camera (thanks to it's 28mm-560mm f2.8-f5.2 lens). It has an electronic manual focus, which I love..and currently I'm mastering the PASM modes (specifically the Program mode).

Oh.. and it takes 1080p videos too :P
