Oh good! I have a question about that. They sent a packet out saying that they want all of the documents submitted to the VFS office, but we've already submitted them to NVC, so do they need new copies of everything? I don't get it. I think all we need to turn in is the medical report and pay the fee of Rs. 387, but now I'm confused. Didn't your wife already turn in the passport clearance certificate to NVC? We already turned that in back in August. Anyway, let me know if you have some insight.

On the official interview letter they should tell you exactly what you sent into NVC and what they have in terms of originals, copies etc. It is to my understanding if you turned in everything to NVC, VFS will ask you to pay fees and it depends on if they take the medical from you or you take it with you. I am not sure exactly what they are going to ask my wife for at VFS. She is taking everything with her but she knows that the only original document that they do not have is the Passport Clearance Certificate. It's pretty much impossible to get in our local jurisdiction without an interview letter from DOS. We submitted a true copy of local pcc to NVC not the passport clearance cert. She got two copies of that once her official interview letter was generated. She will be turning in one original copy at VFS and the other she will carry into the interview just in case they ask for it then.

This is one portion of the immigration process for India where there is a lot of gray area and no one really has a clue what they want until you are at VFS physically. I sure ask heck have no idea as well. The more submissions I read on here the more confused I get. I stopped reading about it a while ago. I just told my wife to take everything with you and know that the only original document they do not have is the passport clearance cert. The anaswers are regional as well so that adds to the confusion. I suggest Prem take all his documents with him just in case.

hi you gat emaill for interview date from nvc

Hey, I didn't get an email from NVC because I was granted an expedite from the Mumbai consulate and my case was forwarded to them. The consulate then sent me an email and scheduled the interview date. You should probably get your email from NVC this month or at the very latest, the second week of November. I think they will put up the December schedule early, though, like they did with October and November. I feel for you because my case closed only a day before yours and ours was going to be in December as well. Good luck! I am hoping you get yours soon.

You are very welcome! The NVC said mine was forwarded to the consulate on 09/30 and that wasnt my tracking number date either. It was sent a few days before and actually signed for by the consulate before I was given my interview date by email. I think there is just a bit of delay in updating their system. typical lol

VFS is done! My wife called me around 5 AM my time and she told me some things but I was too tired from studying the previous night before that I can not recall the details right now. I do know she is done with VFS though.

I'll try to get the details from her here soon.

Now the only thing left is the interview!

Congrats Dave! My husband's going to VFS on Monday so we'll be done with that soon! Did you know that the medical report is sealed and not supposed to be opened until the interview? I never read that, but Prem just finished his medical and they gave him the report and said not to open it. Weird. I think we should be able to know if there is a problem with his health before we go through the interview!

Let me know the details of VFS when you talk to Kinnari again. It would be good to have some insight about what to expect.

Thanks and hope the last few weeks go well for you guys.
