I called the USPS number and she said they'll try to redeliver in 5 days, and if they still aren't there, it will sit waiting to be picked up for 15 days, and then sent back to me. I have no idea if they'd go and pick it up. This is tremendously frustrating.

This is just not our month.

Yeah, definitely try to have them redeliver it.. Could you maybe specify to them to deliver it this Monday so that someone will be there for sure to get it? Because tomorrow is a weekend and if they go then it might be "undeliverable" again. I think its strange though that no one was there to pick it up at 9am today? I mean what time do people at USCIS work? That's working hours already and it's a Friday.. Sorry you had to go through this! This process just isn't easy for anybody..

Hi guys, i have a question. I checked my status today for the AOS and it says "The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. " What does that mean? Does that mean i will have an interview? I haven't prepared anything for an interview! Should i start preparing now then? Thanks.

I know it's very confusingly written (I was confused too when I received it) but it actually means that CSC has now received your case (USCIS office = CSC).

AOS: April 2011 - June 2011

I received a notice earlier saying that the case was transferred to CSC on the 10th of June though. So USCIS office and CSC is the same thing? This doesn't make sense.

This is just not our month.

Try to find the phone number for the local office that has your package to be delivered. When my package was sitting in "redelivery" for the Chicago office I phoned USPS's main office a bunch of times and they were not at all helpful, when I finally got a number for the office that had my package they checked to see if they really had it there and updated the information online because it HAD in fact been delivered. They'll even email you a copy of the signature.

So this is very interesting

We filed April 21 and didn't get notice until we called end of May.

We then got 3 case numbers via email and moved to Boston. Contrary to what many people have said, the USPS does forward USCIS mail as it does not have "return to sender" stamped on the envelope and there is no other wording that states it is a government document. So, when we arrived in Boston, we had all the NOA's waiting for us!

Great!

Except the same day we arrived (June 7) we got an email for a RFE! BOO! We then called and changed our mailing address over the phone and also sent out AR-11. We have yet to receive the RFE via mail and the USCIS reps state they can't tell us over the phone what evidence is needed.

We have, so far, gotten 2 different responses regarding our appointment for Biometrics (scheduled June 22 @ 11 am). The original appt is for Las Vegas, which we obviously can't make because we reside in Boston.

The guy who we spoke to on June 7 said that the entire case is on hold, which includes biometrics, until we get the RFE out of the way. I had the wife call today to verify this because I wanted to be 100% sure of it. The new CSR we spoke to states that you are not required to go to the ASC office on the letter or nearest your home, that it is completely up to you where you get the biometrics done and that the RFE was independent of the biometrics appointment.

Long story short, we are headed on June 22 to the biometrics office for our appointment here in Boston to see what happens. Also, the lady said that they require 15 days for the RFE to get to us, and if we never receive it, they will not extend the deadline to provide the requested information. Any idea how much time they give as far as deadlines are concerned?

When you get RFE your case processing is on hold but you are still required to do biometrics as scheduled on your appointment letter so the first guy you spoke to was wrong.

June 22 appointment means nothing at Boston office as it was scheduled at Las Vegas office, based on their availability dates. Some offices allow walk-ins, others don't (and you will actually do a walk-in since you don't have an appointment at Boston office). Your case is unique so I'm guessing they will probably let you do it but why not try and go earlier? If I was you I would have tried and went as soon as I got appointment letter.

Hi April filers,

I'm sorry for butting in, but I have some questions for you and from your experiences.

I've just got my interview appointment letter today and it says that my husband has to be there with me. It's set for Tuesday, July 26. My problem is that my husband will be working on weekdays at that time. Is it possible to reschedule earlier, maybe within the next two weeks when he is still under training and still on weekend shift? He just started his new job so it would be bad for him to take PTO time before he is even done training.

Will getting an infopass to have them reschedule me earlier help on this or would it just cause more delays?

Also, for those who got their EADs, did you get yours ahead of your interview appointment? I'm wondering because my interview is set just two months after my NOA (because I did the walk-in biometrics), would it mean that my EAD is also getting processed faster, or if it will go the usual timeframe of 3 months. I AM hoping to get my EAD very very soon, and hopefully before I get my greencard, because I have a very good job opportunity that has been waiting for me long enough and I would hate to lose it just because the government is taking their time giving me my required papers and my employers losses their patience from waiting for me to get authorized to work. :-(
