Sometimes this process can be disheartening until of course we remember how lucky we are to have actually found someone we are willing to go through all of this for!!! Just got my NOA2 last wed so i'm at that stage of waiting from NVC to confirm receipt. Very happy to hear the success stories so thank you for sharing!

Met in 2006 in person for the first time!
July 2008 - Relationship is official (3-4 visits per year from 1 week to 2 months at a time)
August 2010 - He proposed! Contemplate living/marrying in Brazil or US

222 days doesn't look so back considering I'm at 167.... I may actually see a light at the end of this tunnel! congratulations and best of luck on your future!

Hey all,

As the title says, i've just had my interview and my visa was approved!!

Just thought id post it as a heads up to everyone who used the California Service Centre at/or around the same time I did (Aug 2010)

And for those of you who have just started, you may not want to look, but it took 222 days from the day i first sent off the forms.

Thanks to everyone i've bugged on here constantly along the way, and a huge shout out to Nich-Nick for especially being a massive help, i've lost count of how many times they have answered one of my questions. Any UK K1ers check out their online guide NOW! http://bit.ly/gmbgde

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Congratulations! We're getting our paperwork together right now for London. Nich-Nick's guide is fantastic, but he recently made it unavailable :(. Nich-Nick, if you're out there: Please bring back the guide! We love the guide! We need the guide!

his interview is on the 20th (2 weeks-ish) if he gets approved then i will book my plane ticket straight away, if not, my fiancee's dad has recently got back in contact with an old friend....who is now a congressman lol so he is willing to sign ineligibility waiver forms for us quickly. :)

i just didnt think about the process unless i was physically filling in a form or something, during the long periods of waiting, i forced myself to forget about it.
