I'm a Janis Joplin fan... I think my avatar sells me out. I can't remember when was the first time I ever heard one of her songs, all I know is that I fell in love with her and her music. My mother in law says it amazes her how somebody my age can be interested in Janis. I think she was one of a kind and left this world too soon.

I've written a short article about her, if you can read it and tell me what do you think that would be awesome. If not, simply ignore this post.

Very nicely written. good.gifgood.gifgood.gif Janis was also a member of the math club in high school, so she was certainly no dummy. These go out to you and all Joplin fans out there.

Heyy! Thanks for the videos! I've seen the one live in Toronto so many times and I could never get tired of it. Thanks and I'm glad you liked it. No, she surely was no dummy! B-)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Very good.

I am from Janis' generation (just a bit younger) and she had the same effect on me when her albums came out.

To this day, I feel the same emotions when I hear her throaty warbling.

Many so-called "pop" groups that I used to listen to during those years sound out of place and passé when I

chance to hear them today, especially on movie sound tracks where they serve to "date" a period in history.

Janis is good to go, any time, anywhere.

I would give anything to be able to travel back in time and go to woodstock, to simply see her perform live. That would have been a priceless memory. She's not going anywhere, even though I was born 16 years after her death I admire her music and personality. Long live Janis!

Love Janis myself. She is missed but still love to hear her music.good.gif

:star: :star: Her way of singing was just... unique.

And I would gladly trade places with you to be young again.

{Kicking myself}

I was not very far from there at the time (New Paltz, New York) but would have had to cut a lot of classes to attend.

Yes and my only means of transportation was a bicycle.:crying:

Hear, hear.

She truly poured her heart out on the stage and you can tell how much she really lived in the moment.

Nagishkaw, like IR5 said, age is indeed a state of mind. You're as young as you want to be.

IR5, yep Janis used to leave it all on stage. Incredible!

thongd4me, Awww I'm sure there were thousands of other kids that wanted to attend and couldn't. At least we got the videos that we can watch over and over.
