hey everyone,

so i made it over and we've had our wedding yay!! (i havnt updated my timeline yet will do so shortly)

i had a couple of quick questions regarding the AOS packet.

i read in the guide that if i had a medical within the past year (which i have) then i wouldnt need another. however i still have to go see the civil surgeon regarding the I-693.

when i had my medical in australia the doctor has marked the the 3025 as "incomplete" although right under that he ticked the box that said "Applicant may be eligible for blanket waivers because vaccinations not medically appropriate"

does this mean i have to get another full medical or is it ok?

my other question is.... does the USCIS have my medical results already? because i cant find them anywhere and im certain they were kept when i had my consulate interview or at my point of entry.... any help on this would be much appreciated.

thank you.

hey,

your medical papers were in the yellow envelope and kept at the POE and sent to USCIS.

For the vaccination on DS-3025, you need to have done:

-MMR

-Td / Tdap

-varicella or if yoy had varicella, the box to be checked as VH

the rest of vaccinations marked not age apropriate andform marked incomplete, may be eligible for blanket waiver.

The vaccinations need to be trancribed on a I693 by a civil surgeon, you will have trouble finding one that does just that without the full medical but you do not need the full medical if it hasn`t ben a year since your medical in Australia.

Good luck.

Look at your DS-3025. If it has the following items, you don't need an I-693.

1. Shots marked (at least one of a series, date no longer than 10 years ago)

  • MMR
  • Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP
  • Varicella or VH written by it if you had chickenpox

2. Everything else marked not age appropriate

3. RESULTS section filled in with "incomplete may be eligible for blanket waiver"

4. Signed and dated by the doctor

If it's not completed like that then see a civil surgeon for the I-693. If it is complete, send a photocopy of your DS-3025.

The USCIS is supposed to have your medical files, but sometimes lose them or fail to match them up with your AOS. Do not get another exam unless you get an RFE that says they do not have results of your medical. It means they lost them, but you are probably stuck with paying for a new exam.

Hey!! Welcome to the US :) Just because your DS-3025 is marked incomplete doesn't necessarily mean you'll need to do the I-693 vaccination sections. You MIGHT be okay as long as the shots are up-to-date.

The medical results were in the brown/yellow envelope you handed in at POE. Depending which doc you went to they might have a copy so you might be able to get one. I went to the Doc in Melbourne and was able to get another copy of the medical sent to my parents house who then forwarded it on. The reason I requested a copy is because occasionally (more common than not common) they will lose your medical and I wanted to make sure I had the copy "just in case".

There's an AOS thread in my signature that might help you :) Good luck :D
