Hi, sorry in advance if this question or a similar situation was on here before. I found posts on I-693 questions, but nothing similar to our situation. My wife (just got our marriage license so guess I can use that now instead of my fiance,) came to the US on a K-1 Visa, had her medical performed in South Korea for the K-1, and got the needed vaccinations. We have a copy of her DS-3025 that the doctor office in South Korea faxed over to us.

We went to a Civil Surgeon today in MO for what I assumed was going to be a quick transcription of her records to the I-693A, and had them tell us they had to run the medical all over again, in addition to giving her additional vaccinations. Her DS-3025 states "Vaccine History Incomplete - Applicant may be eligible for a blanket waive(s) because vaccination(s) not medically appropriate (as indicated above.)" We're within a year of her medial (even through the records were handed over upon her entry and we no longer have those,) so I was sure a full medial was not needed again. I'm wondering about the vaccinations though. How are we supposed to get a I-693A if the Civil Surgeons want to perform a new full blown medial?

Thanks, Larry and Yu Hwa Mitchell

Unless you're married she's not your wife. The licence is your permission to marry, until you actually marry she's still your fiancee. Just because you get a licence doesn't mean you have to marry which is why all it is is a piece of paper.

There is no such thing as an I-693A. It's just certain sections of the I-693 that need to be completed.

A new medical is not required and you can either:

1. Try and convince the CS of that by showing them the instructions of the I-693 where it states it

2. Pay for a new medical

3. Find a different CS
