Hello Brother LI,

I just happened to finish two good books which dance around the topics you are asking about.

The first book is by Karen Armstrong. I, personally, like her writing style. She discusses the evolution of mankind's religious practices/traditions over the course of the past 25,000 years or so.

The second book is by Ian Morris and he discusses the same time frame, but more from the anthropolical/societal/economic evolution of mankind, focusing on how the the West and East both developed along similar lines, but at different paces through the course of history. He uses this data to make predictions into the next 100 years as well, which is well done.

Both books are great reads. It was particularly powerful to read these two backs back-to-back, since they are complimentary topics.

If you have time to read them both, you'll be close to answering your own questions.

Karen Armstrong: The Case for God

Why the West Rules—For Now: The Patterns of History and What They Reveal About the Future.

That brings up an interesting point that I just thought of.

I don't think if God was real He would create such DRAMATIC differences in wealth in His beloved human creation.

I mean on one extreme you have starving children and the other you have kids living in 20,000 square foot mansions with their own private chefs, private movie theaters, every video game they want, dream vacations every month, etc.

In the animal kingdom there is no such thing as wealth disparity. That is the definition of fair but the animals don't get to go to Heaven.

God, if she exists, is definitely a socialist.

World history is apparently too PC.

(serious answer: yes, it is. some people just don't pay attention.)

I never had world history or world geography (in grade 7 I had a world geography class but we just memorized where countries were located on a map, nothing else) until I took general ed courses in college. Everything we learned in history in school was about the US.

Most religions offer eternal bliss to all who suffer hardship and poverty for

God's love, so in a way, wealth is antithetical to spirituality.

Apparently you're supposed to give a certain portion (I don't know the % but it's kinda high) of your income to the church. When I was like 16 I found out how much my grandparents gave to their church every week and I was like

This is the NJ social studies curriculum standard for 9-12. Every HS must comply with these standards.

# In grades 9-12, students continue to study U.S. History and World History/Global Studies. They consider historical viewpoints in order to analyze the role of the individual in society and the significance of fundamental documents to basic human rights. Socratic discussion groups and debate activities enable students to develop sound reasoning and effective communication skills. Opportunities to collaborate with students from around the world and experts in the field, and to develop innovative solutions to real world problems on the local, national, and global levels, mirror the 21st-century workplace and allow students to practice important career skills. By the end of grade 12, students have a heightened understanding of the cause-and-effect relationship between past and present events, recognize patterns of interactions, and understand the impact of events in an interconnected world.

I wonder what the curriculum is in Indiana. I was homeschooled for high school but the program I was in was through Indiana University http://iuhighschool.iu.edu/

So Muslim God is making it easier for Muslims to enter the Kingdom of Muslim God but harder for the richer non-Muslim nations?

I'm not gonna lie, that would make sense for believers in Muslim God. Thank you for the clarification.

Why do you keep saying Muslim God? I am sure you know that it's the same god for the 3 religions.

Well, truthfully there is no God so all we're really talking about are the fevered hallucinations of various religious people. In that sense the Muslim God is the God Muslims have conjured up in their heads.

I've gathered that Muslims generally believe this to be true, but Christians no.

What is truth? hmmmm

This is the most idiotic, offensive, and shortsighted thing I have ever seen. Shame on you.

Americans need to learn to think better and deeper. Pathetic.

So you weren't the typical destined-for-med-school overachiever?

all my electives were science or math, but I was one of those people who always got an A and never really had to try. then I decided to do something I loved (cook) and went to culinary school. that was fun while it lasted but I needed to use my brain again. almost immediately after finishing culinary school I told everyone I was ready to go back to "real" school but I kept working as a chef because I had all these cool jobs and opportunities. eventually it got old and I went back to school. I never really had to study for anything until I got to med school. learning to do that this late in the game has sucked big time.
