Malcolm and I received notice of our NOA2 yesterday and after jumping up and down a bit, I now have more questions!

We're going to be getting prepared for the next steps and I'm working on the I-134. I moved back to the United States a few months ago and I'd hoped that I would be working by now. Unfortunately I'm still unemployed, so we'll need a co-sponsor. That's no problem, my dad can do it, but my question is about my I-134. Since I don't meet the income requirements, do I still need to provide bank statements and other proof of income, since effectively I don't have any other than savings? Seems like all I'd need to do is to provide the I-134 saying I have no income, then provide my dad's I-134 with accompanying documents. Right?

For the interview, the NOA2 notice isn't required, correct? I'd prefer to keep it here and in safe place and not mail it to Scotland, in case it gets lost in the mail.

Finally, for interview in London, pretty much no additional information on proof of a relationship is required? I was trying to get pictures of us together and receipts from when he was last here, but seems like for London they don't really care about that stuff. I'm hoping I can stop worrying about that!

Thanks in advance for any info, we're both very excited to finally have our NOA2! Only two weeks past the 5month mark so not too bad!

You as sponsor don't have to provide any income documents except your own I-134 (although you can if you want to show what you've got). Your dad needs an I-134 and all the other documents as well

NOA2 is not necessary for interview, but it might be good to have a copy to take just in case.

Arguably London for the most part doesn't want more relationship info, but that doesn't mean that they can't ask for it as the relationship is an important part of the process. If anything makes them think your relationship is not right they will want to see more.

Andrea,

I dont know much about the process after the NOA 2 since we are still waiting on ours :) But i think i have read somewhere on other posts that you need to send in a copy of your NOA2 to your fiance so he can take it to the embassy on the interview, and you should keep the original with you, in the states because later on is needed in the process. Try to ask other members if im right about this ... good luck with the affidavit and soon the interview :)

NOA2 is not needed at the Embassy in London for the interview, nor a photocopy of it. I've been following London since 2008 and reading all the reports of interviews and I personally have never known anybody out of hundreds who needed to provide proof of the relationship. I agree that the I-134 without enough income shouldn't really need further proof of no income if you have a co-sponsor. There's some tips for UK K1's that might help you HERE.

Thanks, that document is very helpful! I've forwarded the link to my fiance so that should put us on the right track. Just trying to streamline the process so we don't get caught up in needless paperwork. This whole process is stressful enough without complicating things!

Thank you! It was such a relief, I was having visions of the visa not being approved in time combined with all of our non-refundable deposits for the wedding. Thankfully we still have six months to go until the wedding, so that should give us enough time. Though I don't think I'm going to stop stressing until the visa is in his passport!

@Andrea,

You're like us! :)

I moved back to the U.S. (from the UK) in early February.. our wedding is six months from yesterday ;)

Thought that was pretty neat ;-)
