How does one determine an 'approved' interview ?

Our officer was very vague about what to expect next. She left us in limbo, she seemed inexperienced. How do you guys know you're approved ? are you explicitly told so

The officer said she had no doubts about our relationship and simply seemed to be 'compiling and completing' our file. She did however take my I-94 and my AP document, are these positive indicators for approval ? she didn't take my EAD however.

OH, and she didn't cancel my K1 visa on my passport.

Your K-1 Visa expired as soon as you arrived in the US so there was nothing for her to do about that. Taking the I-94 and Ap is a good sign. My wife's interview they took the I-94 and her EAD and the same for my stepson but did not take their AP's. We were told that we were approved and received a letter saying it was being recommended for approval to the advisor to look over. I have seen people that have had their EAD taking and others that have not so I don't know what to day there.

In our case, our adjudicating officer told us explicitly that we were going to be approved. I asked him if he will take our I-94s and EADs (my daughter and I were the ones adjusting status; and we didn't have APs because we were holding K3 and K4 visas, which are multiple entry visas), and he said to hang on to them until the green cards arrived in the mail. I also asked him if we should destroy the EADs ourselves, he said to mail them to their office so they can be able to account for them before destroying them.

Our officer didn't tell us on the spot we were approved, she said she'd notify us if she needed more evidence or if we were approved, but we got a card production text about 10 days later which is how we knew.
