Hello All,

I have been in USA for almost 3 years, my wife is a US citizen and i am a green card holder. Due to my work it is hard for me to leave US to visit my family. Me and my wife came to the conclusion to have my father, mother and little sister(7 years old) to visit us (under tourist visa). I am filling I-134 Affidavit of support to support their financial expenses while staying with us. I have a good job and financially secured i can support them during their stay, in the other hand my wife has not work for almost 2 years. my question here is: should i have the form I-134 under my name or my wife's name? since she is a citizen and i am not. i have heard that many got denied due to bringing their little kid with them? (no one can take care of her if my parent come here so they have to bring her), also for form DS-160, is one form enough for all of them? I am able to buy them air tickets in advance but i do not want to buy anything until i know they have the visa on hand, is buying tickets in advance will or can be advantage?

I have informed my parents to obtain any proof bond them to the my country, it will be great if you can share experience and advice with me.

Thank you,

Much better that they show that they can support a visit from their own finances.

Money not an issue, they have some money in the bank but not much for US point of view. however me supporting their stay by providing room in my house. they are my parents and of course want and need to take care of them here.

Each applicant needs their own DS-160.

Thank you for you reply, also do you know if i should fill I-134 or my wife? or can we both fill one form each?

You csn send as many I 134's as you want, they have no legal standing.

I think it weakens the application, some Consulates seem to expect them.

I presume you know this is a long shot.

Thank you,

I highly reccommend you do not buy the tickets until/unless the visa is issued. It would be a shame to waste all that money in case of a denial.

In the case of my step daughter, the Consular official would not even look at the evidence she brought. The fact that most of her immediate family was in the states was enough for denial.

She had proof of vacation from her employer.

The title to her condo in the Philippines.

Her bank account statements.

Notorized letter from me guaranteeing round trip air fare, and support while she was here.

Letter from our minister saying that she was to be the maid of honor in our wedding.

When my step daughter offered to show those documents the official politely told her she was denied and they couldn't do anything for her. She never even opened the folder. Waste of $140.00 visa fee at the time.

You have the job.

Yeah, that's right, we all know it is a long shot if they don't grant the visa i will try to get a vacation and go visit them, because i missed my family.

Thank you

You have the job.

Yeah i am the one working and have 90% of the house income. i was just wondering if because i am not citizen that will make the form useless

The I 134 form is useless.

Send one each.
