I;m not happy with this thread.

I never crawl out of my observers hole for controversy. But enough of this.

I know touches mean nothing, but by GOD I keek checking, because there is nothing else. Don't tell me you older VJ'ers never went through this. This board is for support not damning the newbies.

Nuff said.

I'm in no way damning the newbies. I was telling them that touches don't mean anything.

Some newer VJ members are misinforming people as if they can see into USCIS' crystal ball & predict approvals, after a touch, and that's impossible to say.

Sure we check/ed but it doesn't mean I thought i get approved every time I saw one!

I was touched 16 times, yet, overall it took 150 days for approval.

Touches mean nothing more than your file is in play. It does not infer anything other than that.

However, their is nothing wrong with being excited by them. I know I was!! :D

If your not part of the hard-fought solution, you're part of the insidiously comfortable problem. If you're not part of the smart fun, you're part of the naive repression. If you're not part of the tough investigative team, you're part of the bland cover - up. Blah .

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I think its great for people to get excited about being touched. However...I dont think its fair to be told that this means you are about to be approved. Like someone mentioned in another thread it shows life at CSC. My case has not been touched in nearly 2 months. Im not gonna lie, when I see someone who applied long after me like say in the last few months getting touched and saying that this means they are going to be approved it really PISSES ME OFF! Simply because THIS IS NOT USUALLY THE CASE!...Be excited that you got touched for sure but dont go spreading you are about to be approved especially when there are so many more cases that appear to be rotting on some CSCers desk. <_<

I think maybe you misunderstood. This board is for support! Part of that support is making sure that newbies or anyone else doesn't get misinformation from other members here. I don't see anyone damning newbies.

I understand and know that because I've been lurking for quite some time. I just feel it's wrong to scold the infernal "Touch Checkers" because that is the only thing to reference for our petition. I suppose informing them that it's useless other than personal contentment is OK though. But remember in a couple days there will be some other newbie that proclaims the impossible again. Because by then this thread will be buried.

Peace!!

Well .. it's not " right " to give wrong information to anyone ... but this is a process we are all learning as we go .. i think everyone even the " newbies " want to help the next person. It's really that simple ... apart from the odd troll nobody is out to hurt or give false hope in any way  I know i felt better getting " touched " even though for the first month or two i didn't even know what it meant ! Once i figured it out hell yea it was exciting. I wish everyone still waiting to be approved the best of luck because we all know the waiting is soo sooo sooooooo hard. :luv:

Let me try to say this another way.

Misinformation is not going to help anyone. And the touch checkers are doing just that. Would you rather hear the truth or lies, just because they make you feel better?

I may as well add in here, if you change your password a touch appears. That still doesn't mean an approval is coming...

Or, a touch may mean that the file has just been put out of play, e.g. an IBIS hit and the case will be 'on the bench' (or 'in the penalty box') until the hit has been cleared.

Phone calls and emails asking about your status (before you are out of date range) will generate a file 'touch'. That's self inflicted touching, and my mother told me that was naughty.

excuse me for not responding. I'm being touched right now by my baby in China. We've both got webcams and use Yahoo with voice daily.

I've heard of the trick to change password for a touch. Why try it until you need to (60 days i think) Oh I'm getting close to a touch then. I'm at 51 days.

So who's going to start the over 50 club?

In response I have seen some obnoxious posts that would lead to this thread.
