Good evenings all,

So now I am wondering if our petitions will be delayed, looked at with more detail and with injustice eyes, now that the US doesnt know what is to come from the Egyptian government.

Is there any way we can make our petitions expetited on human rights and our spouses safety? Any laws as US citizens for the protection of our family members.

Im soo worried. I just came back from Egypt, yesterday morning. Things are looking bad and getting worse.

With all honesty, I think it seems like the US is trying to get all their staff out ASAP. Hopefully they will ship Egyptian applications to somewhere nearby for processing.

It's unfortunate -

Well.. Why would they need to expedite..? To me this isnt an emergency if 1/2 of the country is involved in the "unrest."

The US is trying to get out of there.. worrying about someone's petition is the least of their concern.. I'm all for it if it's a natural disaster BUT the Travel Alert expires on February 28, 2011 so it's not long term.

Agreed. Bad situation but not worthy of visa/petition expedition.

Worried about the same things, but what can we do other than wait and see? I agree that although it would be nice and seems like a fair question, expediting isn't much of an option.

It is especially concerning and frustrating for those of us so close to or in the NVC or embassy stage right now. Hang in there, you're in good company..we are all anxiously awaiting almighty visa.Hopefully things will settle down and become normal in a new and improved way for the people of Egypt very soon.

You may want to consider calling the NVC to discuss your situation with them directly. I called them yesterday regarding our Tunisian petition and discovered they have established a special line for individuals concerned with visas for Egyptians. Good luck to you.

If you are already married I would def give a call. I can remember hearing that when they were evacuating USC they were also evacuating their spouses even if they did not have a GC. From what I heard this was for couples who were together at the time evacuations began. Def. call and find out.

Where did you here that? It would be great, but just seems to good to be true. If only we could of have left together, but my husband had to stay behind. It was so crazy at the Cairo Airport that we didnt even get to say goodbye.

Defenetly calling on Monday morning to see what they say. Also I have scheduled an infopass again, lets see what happens.
