In another 2 weeks it will be 5 months since I filed my I-130. I am expecting an approval any day now as my brother received his approval almost 3 weeks ago and he filed 2 weeks before I did.

My question is: Is it ok to fill out and print the I-864, I-864a, DS230, and DS3032 now while I wait for I-130 approval? The reason I ask this is if I print out the forms today then I will have to put in today's date. Will the NVC not accept the forms if the date of signatures is a month or so old? I just want to speed things up as much as possible and that is why I want to have the forms ready now.

When did you guys start to fill out these forms? Does the NVC really care if the date on the forms is not recent? I would like to get some input from you guys.

Thanks

As long as the information on the DS3032 and DS230 isn't going to change, there's no reason not to do them now and date them current to when you send them in. However, for the financial documents, you'll want to provide current information and tax returns. Since the I-130 isn't approved yet, you may well need to use the 2010 tax return information, so I would wait until after you file the 2010 return(s) to do the affidavits of support.

I agree with most of pshbrk. Feel in the forms and wait to sign and date them just prior to sending them. As for 2010 income tax, it won't be required unless you file on or after April 15. I sent mine towards the middle of March last year and had no issues. I was asked at the interview for the most recent tax year's form and w-2s. Of course, if you have already filed your taxes for 2010 then include them.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

If they are dated current to now, do you think they'd be denied?

The reason I'm asking: we're not expecting to be approved before April/May but my husband will be visiting with me in March and I wanted to fill out and sign my - beneficiary's stash of forms and give them to him so he's got them handy for NVC. So if I do that and date them in March, do you think we might have a problem? Or should I just NOT date them and let my husband handwrite the date on them when the time comes?

Nothing major, just curious

Let your husband hand date the materials when the time comes.
