Mailing a package

Kind of a dumb question, but when I mail a package via DHL to my fiance do i write the address in english or cyrillic?

I would imagine you would put English on the DHL label. However, you can write Cyrillic on another area of the package, albeit optional.

When I have mailed things to my fiancee, I have used USPS Express Mail. What I do is English on the Express Mail label and Chinese on both sides of the package.

I've sent a bunch o boxes to Y O via USPS and always wrote an English label only. Never had a problem. Deliver time averaged around 1 month.

We send a package to my step daughter every month or two using USPS. We label it in English and Cyrillic. Delivery times vary from a few weeks to a month.

These are good sized boxes weighing around 10 pounds containing mostly clothes.

It doesn't really matter since most folks in Russia can read English. They may not be fluent, but they can decipher an English address label. Keep in mind they've been viewing English movies and products their whole lives and most even took some form of English in school.

When I send something I do the country in big magic marker - RUSSIA/POCCNR, and the rest in only Cyrillic. I figure the post office or DHL or whomever doesn't really care what the address is, they only need to know what country it's going to.

Also remember when you do a customs label it's going to be in English.

ETA - POCCNR isn't what I actually write on there; I just don't have Cyrillic on this keyboard and I'm too lazy to look it up.
