I re-read your wiki and my mistake sorry. I read the "Have the cover letter (signed)" as cover sheet. :bonk::rofl: I just can't wait to have this whole thing over with. My mind is reading on its own.

Hi and congrats, my husband is also going to do the medical in Bogota in two weeks.... which doctor did your wife go to? and which Flu shot she needed?.. the bogota embassy webpage shows two difrent flu shots "Influenza" & "Haemophylus influenza tipo b (Hib)" and it is about $20.000 pesos in the Red Cross rather than the Dr.'s office....please let me know... thanks

she went to Dr. Jairo Roa because the woman doctor (forgot her name) was all booked...she is definitely more popular, but my wife said Jairo was just fine. She had to get Influenza, as well as Varicella, MMR, and TDap. Those 4 shots are the main shots you need, the rest are not age appropriate. The cost was about 243.000 mil pesos (around $125) for all the vaccines at the clinic. We decided to just get them at the clinic because people have said they had major trouble with the doctors not accepting vaccines that were done at other offices,so they had to get them again at their clinic, and we did not want nor had the time to take that risk.

Congrats to all the CC and the interview assigned!!

I called NVC today to see if the pictures and evidence I sent to USCIS was sent with my file and the operator said she doesn't know, but that she can tell me that my expedite was approved this morning!!

She said "I can have them pull your file to check for pictures but that would delay the transfer process". I said "NO!!!" LOL I can always have pictures printed out again.

So I said, oh well I already paid the AOS fee and it's "in process" should I pay the IV fee when it's available and she said "No, pay it directly to embassy"

Then I asked if I should send either of the packets to NVC or have him take it to the embassy, she said "Don't do anything or send us anything" She said wait to hear from embassy and take documents directly there. She said if I sent docs to NVS they will only send them back to me.

I said thank you and hung up.

I already paid the AOS fee, but that only necessary if the AOS is reviewed domestically, if AOS is reviewed at consulate the fee is not needed. Oh well. Don't care if I"m out $88 if it means I'll get to see Hubby before our anniversary.

If not for the expedite ( which I hope is a true expedite) his appointment would likely have been in late June.

Very happy but taking it with a grain of salt. U never know what could go wrong with this whole process!!

Ughh...

NVC now say they haven't received our DS230 which was sent along with all the rest of our documents. Add this to the fact they say we have to wait 20 days for a review of Val's $150 bank statement, and you get the impression we are being messed about.

SO much for an expedite.

Not impressed.

I know Saylin, we have tried and tried to get a supervisor on the 'phone, but with absolutely no joy. They said we could arrange for a supervisor to call back in a few days! If we get no further progress today, I am going to send an email spelling things out.

It's crazy - London was MORE than happy to expedite, and were very quick, but because the fees had been initiated at NVC, they asked them to do the documentation. I have not the faintest idea as to why they need a copy of Val's bank statement - it smacks of an excuse to me - there's only $150 in it, and we are not using it as any asset LOL!

All the operators we have spoken to say they have no record of our DS230, when it was in fact sent with the 864. Once again, we feel TSC bound - no one seems to want, or be able to help.

Very frustrating when we see all these expedites go flying through (Good luck to everyone though), but NVC is becoming a second black hole.

Rant over!!

that is strange that they asked NVC to do the documentation...I paid both AOS and IV fees through the NVC, and all the Bogota embassy asked for is for us to bring all documentation to the interview. Anything through NVC is usually done when your expedite is granted. UK embassy should have agreed to take on all of your documentation, no matter if you paid the fees through NVC or not!

I know.

Here's the email we received...I mean what can we do? It didn't help I had to get my UK police cert over to Val and it got lost on the way. 15 days wasted there also....I mean we're trying to keep positive, but it is mighty frustrating.

The National Visa Center (NVC) received the immigrant visa petition filed byValerie xxxxxx on behalf of Gary xxxxx and assigned case numberxxxxxxxxxx. We received a request from the U.S. Embassy in London, United Kingdom for this case to be expedited when it is documentarily complete. We will process this case with supervisor assisted processing. When all the documentation is complete we will forward this case to the U.S. Embassy in Londonfor expeditious scheduling.

fermat: we were approved for an expedite earlier this month, they called us last week after we emailed them the DS-230 and DS-2100, and gave us the interview date..much earlier than either one of us expected.

Valandgary: I definitely understand your frustration, you have a legitimate expedite, and they should treat it as such. It is called an "expedite" for a reason..NVC should send it all over to the embassy, like they have done for countless other expedites. I dont understand why that is such a problem if UK embassy understands the urgency of the situation. I really do not know what you can do, as I imagine you have contacted the embassy and NVC numerous times to ask what is going on, and why it is taking so long.
