Hi everyone,

I petitioned for my wife about 4 months ago.

It was 09/28/10 when my application was received.

It was 09/30/10 when my application was first noticed.

And it was immediately then my check for $355.00 was cashed.

I was following this forum and checking how other people's applications went through and how long it took.

My wife is living in Turkey, and I reside in NY.

As I indicated it has been 4 months form the NOA1 and I haven't heard anything since then. I feel like this might take longer, which I really don't want that to happen. I read from other people like most of the applicants by this time at least gotten NOA2 or some more information. I have not heard anything since then.

Does anyone know, or anyone from Turkey went through this process? Where do you think I am standing? How far am I from hearing or expecting any news?

It has been 4 months and I really would love to hear some good news.

As far as I know, as soon as I get the approval (which may be NOA2, right?) I will receive a 2nd package, and sent the document either to NVC or directly to US Embassy in Turkey.

Can anyone answer these questions if they know any of my situation.

I appreciate all your help.

there is a list of things you need to do, you need to read the guides on this page, they don't send you a package , you need to dowm load all the forms, ds-230 1-861,etc if you did not send G-1145 TO SEND YOU E.MAIL then they send you a letter 7 or 8 months maybe more, do reserch and then ask us if you have a question,

Also, you may want to look around the regional Turkish forum here. Every country has its portal here on VJ. Take a look there and ask around. DEFINITELY read LingChe's shortcut through NVC and start gathering papers for that. Your wife will have to send you a few completed and signed forms plus some other docs as well. It's better to do it now before you're approved (and yes, NOA2 is the USCIS's approval of your i-130) so you are ready for the NVC.

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

When your case gets to NVC, there's A LOT you can do to speed up the process so it is wise to be prepared and proactive.

Good luck! Hope you're reunited with your wife soon.

I did filed G-1145. and they have noticed me for the acceptance, but nothing since then. OK, I will do some more research and I will download all the forms and fill them up. but where do I send them?

Thank you.

one of the joys of the research that yer about to embark upon/on -

is that

'where to send' is revealed.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

OK, I download all those forms, do I send them before I hear from the office for NOA2, or after? If so, I have waited all these time for nothing. I will send them right away. Can you please clear this for me. Thank you.

First of all you need to fill your timeline,so we know which service center your file is located.I am going same procedures IR1?CR_1 visa like you.I am with Texas Service Center and I have been waiting over 5 months. You can not send any paperwork to nowhere untill USCIS approves you.Once USCIS approves you, than they will send your case to NVC.'Till than you just have to sit and wait like rest of us.

I filed and sent the documents to Chicago lox box. and I filed to Vermont service center because I live in NY. It has been 4 months since I received NOA1, the average processing time, listed on USCIS website, is about 5 months. Do you know about how long it might take after NVC. Good luck everyone.

What might be some possible reasons of delay?

Thanks.

Suse,

Please if you could fill in your timeline on your profile. Then, VJ Timeline will give you an approximate date for your NOA2. But this is not a guarantee or promise. The USCIS states that the wait time is approximately 5 mos. from the date of the NOA1 letter. However, if you read the forum, many are experiencing longer wait times than that estimated goal time. In the meantime, you should be close to completed if not finished with your next packet. Here is the list from USCIS.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2991.html

Packet #3

  • I-864 Affidavit of Support
  • Letter from your Employer on their letterhead
  • Tax Transcript from IRS or Tax Returns

Packet #4

  • 2 Passport photos of WIFE (Beneficiary) Size: 2x2 inches or: 5 cm x5 cm
  • DS-230 Part 1 signed by wife. Part 2 she will sign in front of Consulate at the interview
  • Copy of Passport (beneficiary) All pages
  • Military Record of Discharge: IF IT APPLIES ONLY
  • Police Records: Archived and Current
  • Birth Certificate: Nufus Kayit Ornegi

All documents in foreign language must be translated to ENGLISH and Certified by the Translator.

Good Luck
