Hello everyone,

My spouse has applied for naturalization last month, she is called for finger print this 26th. i'm waiting in F2A category since June 2008 with my Priority Date 29th June 2008. my question is, should i wait for my PD to become current or should my spouse update the petition?

please give your expert opinion.

Thanks

If u don't recv interview date before ur spouse become citizen, after ur spouse become citizen update ur case catagory by sending Naturalization certificate copy.

After the finger print, by 4/5wks letter u will get letter about your Citizenship Interview. And normally interview will be 1 month later than the letter issued. And if u passed the interview and lucky enough about availability of Oath date .... then will get Oath date with in 2 wks after oath(keep mind ready to wait longer for Oath Date). And in same day in Oath u will recv Naturalization Certificate. So u need about 12+ wks to complete Naturalization process.

Don't forget to take your Marriage certificate with u in Citizenship Interview ( Though they will not ask for that)

Wishes the Best

jj161, Congratulations for your greencard!

I'm in the same boat except that 'my huband is waiting for a visa.He probabely gets an interview in 3 months (his priority date is 0ct.2009). I'm gonnabecome a citizen at the endo f september before he gets his interview.my question is how long after your hubby became a citizen & upgraded your case, did you get your interview?(2 months after?)My plan was to return to him immediately after getting my citizenship but in this case i'll loose my job Í can't show that i support him financially. so he will be denied. I would like to find a way that he gets his interview while i'm still in the U.S. & working. So i would like to know if you think upgrading your case has expedited your interview date or not?

Thanks

Mitra
