I'm thinking about moving and was wondering if a change in my address would cause a delay in the visa process.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

12-27-2010: I-129F arrived at USCIS sent packet on 12/23

12-29-2010: Notice date on NOA1

12-31-2010: Check cleared

01-02-2011: NOA1 received via SMS & E-Mail

01-06-2011: NOA1 hardcopy received via USPS[/color]

2-17-2011:Touched

04/12/2011:NOA2!!!!!

4-18-11: Received by NVC

4-20-11: Left NVC

4-24-11: Received by the consulate in Abu Dhabi

4-27-11:Received both packet 3 & 4 via e-mail from Abu Dhabi

7-25-11:Interview date-Administrative Processing

8-3-11:Administrative Processing ended - APPROVED!!!!!! :D

8-25-11:POE-SFO

9-10-11:Married!!!

9-26-11:Sent AOS Packet

10-6-11:Received NOA1s via text and E-mail

10-9-11:NOA1 hardcopies received, along with biometrics appointment letter

10-25-11:Biometrics Appointment

You just received your NOA1 in the last 2-4 weeks. You can update your case with the proper address. IF you have moved to different state then the service center processing your request may change. Others may have different but since it is new i would if I had been waiting say 4+ months I'd leave it as is.

Stay where you are. It might delay your case.

Really? Both my fiance and I have moved since we received our NOA1 and we just followed the instructions, updating our address... about 2 weeks after that, we got a totally unrelated RFE, but our address update doesn't seem to have done anything to our processing time...

April, 2009 - We met

May, 2009 - We wooed

June, 2010 - We got engaged, looking forward to a small August 2010 wedding

** Reality Check: K-1 Process**

July 22, 2010 - NOA1

**5 months of patient waiting**

December 29, 2011 - call around for information about delay

January 5, 2011 - RFE notice (first online status update yet!)

January 10, 2011 - RFE Hardcopy

January 13, 2011 - RFE Response acknowledged

January 24, 2011 - NOA2 (at last!!)

February 3, 2011 - application sent from NVC to Montreal (aka. the Abyss?)

March 7, 2011 - Packet 3 sent to me

March 10, 2011 - Packet 3 delivered to Montreal

March 21, 2011 - Packet 4 sent to me

April 5, 2011 - Medical

April 13, 2011 - Interview - approved!

April 20, 2011 - visa in hand

May 9, 2011 - POE (Buffalo, NY)

May 10, 2011 - wedding :)

This is something I was worried about too but from my understanding it wouldn't affect anything. It's just a form you fill out and they locate your file and swap it.

I'm moving in May (we're sending our packet today) so this weighed heavy on my mind. I almost just used my parents address since they are moving anywhere, but I was recommended against that as they will get suspicious and you should use the address your tax information is sent to...

A change of address shouldn't cause a delay.

Odd anecdote, I moved right after I submitted our paperwork and was planning to move again before the visa was approved so I put my parents home address for my mailing address. Our NOA1 was sent to them with their address. I spoke to USCIS today and they have my current (new address) on file which I didn't provide them on the I-129F!
