Can anyone give me some ideas as to what types of questions will be asked? I've read up on here about it, but I am seeing a HUGE range. Do I really need to know specfics, such as what we ate for breakfast? (No joke, I read that.) Is it really only 15 minutes?

Trust me know ALL YOU CAN!!!! You never know what the IO will pull out of his hat. I had my Interview a few weeks ago and it went very well cos we weren't asked Any personal question and it took less than 15mins, but that's not the case for everyone. Good Luck with your interview, Relax and make sure you have orignals and copies of everything, also bring pictures! Good Luck!

There is a huge range for a reason. Some people are basically approved before the interview starts, so the meeting is merely a formality. Some people walk into their interview and are suspected of fraud, so they endure a more rigorous set of questions, sometimes even separating the couple and comparing answers. The job of the interviewer is to make sure that you did not get married only for the immigration benefit, nothing more. The idea of the interview is that the questions are simple enough that a real married couple would be able to answer the questions easily. There is not much prep to be done, most people are not grilled, and most are approved. I think one of the hardest parts is not knowing what kind of interview you are going to get, but by and large, most people are satisfied and impressed with the service and respect they receive at the interview, which is much more than any uscis status tracker gives. Good luck.

I believe it depends on each case. If there are red flags, you might expect some questions about specifics. I read a lot about interview questions like "what is your husband's toothbrush color", but I didn't take that into account since my case was simple, easy and straight forward, so the morning of the interview I didn't go to check what color is my wife's toothbrush and I still don't know.

My wife was asked how long have we know each other and what do I do for a living, then the IO went with her through the forms. That's it. The whole thing took 15 stress-less minutes.

Good luck to you.

You'll kick yourself if you could have prepared and then didn't and somehow got denied because of a simple slip up. Not that you will get denied, but better safe and prepared than sorry. Immigration is a huge deal, in my opinion it is worth the extra prep for peace of mind.

We went our interview last friday and it's all did well.. The IO asked me and my husband about our personal info asked me if I have any visa, how did we met, when did we got married. Then she asked if I have some proof of billings and some pictures of our wedding day,the interview did not take long 15 mins then after that the IO told me that she will approved my AOS. In my opinion it also depend on the IO and your documents that you have.. Just tell the truth that all... good luck!!!! :)

Wait! Are you actually saying that the couple has to go to the interview and not just the "Alien"? I didn't know that, it doesn't say anything about it in the NOA.

Yes, both people must be present at the interview. It says so on the interview letter, if you get one. It is a part of their determining if the couple has a genuine relationship. Hey, but then you can celebrate together when they say "approved"! ;)

It's not on the NOA1, you will find it in the interview letter IF you are requested to attend an interview. :)
