I remember Nissen bread, but not the Ted Williams ad. Maybe I'm not so ready for the tomb.

that is age ... and a family thing. and yes i really do have the baseball.

i remember getting twic, wfsb, and wtnh ... as the only tv stations ...

and listening to bob steele in the morning.. something about the whalers theme song being played after victory followed by the school closings due to snow was always great ...

And my experience with Yahoo and Match.com and e-harmony, what a joke.. Never in a million years has there been such a joke as those websites..

Kenny, I hope you're not generalizing by saying that Yahoo, Match.com, e-harmony and sites like that are jokes for EVERYBODY? I hope you mean that only for yourself... because I know for a fact that those kind of sites have brought happiness for other people. If you only meant that they are jokes for yourself, then it's okay and fine. But no, they aren't jokes for EVERYBODY. :)

Thanks this opening question wasnt directed at any country , i was mainly talking about the philippines but i suppose the same issues applies to about anywhere.

I am not speaking with her anymore so maybe one of these days i will decide to go since i know some others that have been there .

Thanks

There a few limited parts of the Philippine that an American shouldn't go. But for the most part it's very safe. Try Davao, if they tried to harm and American the Mayor's Death squad would have them and thier family in body bags within hours.

There are parts of Dallas Fort Worth area that are much dangerous than parts of Philippines, Many American Men read or hear about how dangerous Philippines is. The only danger is sorting thru all the beautiful chicks that you can have each and every night......

It is good to be an American Male in Philippines........

You do realize, that's not the point of my comment dont you?

As far as success goes, everyone I know has had similar experiences with those sites... so great that you're appearing to be the exception.. OF all the dates I went on, I found most people to mis-represent themselves quiet extremely, like placing photos of themselves that were 10 years ago, and 100 pounds lighter..

I do know a friend who met someone on yahoo and eventually got married.. But, I am almost sure he would privately agree with me now, that his wife is kinda a bi-atch and kinda un-attactive.. soo, I would say, his was'nt a success either..

So, if you want to pick that out of my earlier response as being the point, then there's my thoughts.. but frankly kinda surprized you would not see that the point is;

The women from Colombia, Russia, Ukraine and other 3rd world countries, can't be bought, and the green card and money isnt the motivating factor..

Stay focused on the point..

Ohh, and thier are plenty of spinners if that's your thing.. Those of you talking about farm animals, well, you're just wierd,,,

:D

No, those of you talking about "spinners" are the weirdos. We're your equals, fools, so start treating us like that.

Let's get back to reminiscing about New England in the 20th century. A far better conversation.

Edit: eeeeeeeeee, typo.

remember when the tornado hit windsor locks?

I was a little kid, but yeah. Remember Hurricane Gloria? We lost power for two weeks -- I did homework by candlelight. Luckily we had oil heating and gas appliances!
