More than a month is unusual. Have they cashed your check? Do you have delivery confirmation? It is normal to receive the NOA1 in 10 days or so.

I got an email from Texas stating that they were forwarding it to the California Service Center for review.

A few days later, my fiance got a hard copy from California stating that they received it.

nope,they dont know everything about every case,but they are far more knowledgeable and logical than the standard operators.

the normal operators are like a 24/7 period,or pmsing none stop

If they've cashed your check, consider that your NOA1. The same thing happened to me...twice..."returned as undeliverable"...It happens all the time to people like you and me. The best thing to do is to call them and ask them to escalate your call. The "officers" can give you your case # over the phone.

it's been almost 2 months for us...but we have the electronic one, so that should be enough. i guess it got lost in the mail somewhere

Look on Igor's List (Immigration Timelines) and you'll see that the NOA1s usually come within a few days. I'd think you would want a copy of that - or at least the EAC number.
