I was wondering how USCIS notifies you on RFE. I just recevied a hard, white envelope or parcel from USPS. It wouldn't fit in mailbox so I have to wait until Tuesday to pick up. I received recipt number and all I was wondering is this the way USCIS notifies you?? Its the weekend and I am worried something may be amiss....

They can and will send everything back if you made an error in completing a form, not signing a form, submitting the wrong payment and so forth.

Since you have solid evidence that it was accepted (case # and check cashed), I think you are getting worked up over nothing at this point. If you signed up for automatic e-mail and/or notifications you should get notified on any 'status' changes in your case, such as RFE's, transfers, approvals, etc. To get some info, why don't you sign into the USCIS tracking systems, set up your account with your case number, and see what it says:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do

Otherwise, you'll remain completely in the dark and drive yourself nuts.

I am one of those who's case or receipt number is not recognized, I have created an account but on their web site I just get your number isn't in the system..

This is all I see when I log in........

It says for email check box?????????? I see no box to check..

My Portfolio

To request e-mail notification about a particular case, check the box to the left of an application receipt number and click the "E-mail Alert On" button. To stop receiving e-mail notification about a case, check the box to the left of an application receipt number and click the "E-mail Alert Off" button.

To request text message notification about a particular case, check the box to the left of an application receipt number and click the "Mobile Alert On" button. To stop receiving text message notification about a case, check the box to the left of an application receipt number and click the "Mobile Alert Off" button. The text message notifications will be sent to the United States Mobile Phone Number in your Account. If you select text messaging notification you acknowledge that this is a pilot program and that Standard Messaging Rates or other charges related to these notifications may apply.

If your e-mail address or Mobile Phone Number changes, please update your account with your new information.

You currently do not have any cases added to your portfolio.

Add a Case to Your Portfolio

* Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

Sorry, I didn't realize the other fact in your case about not being in the system yet, so I do get what some of the nervousness is about. The only thing to do is get that package and see if it's from the USCIS. They pre-screen the packages for obvious, blatant errors and return them immediately if that is the case, but that usually happens before they cash the check and issue a number.

I don't know from first-hand experience, but from what I read here, they send RFE's via normal first class mail...takes a week to 10 days to get them...it's just a normal letter explaining what they need. This doesn't sound like it fits the profile of an RFE, but I'm no expert on it.

It's difficult waiting 3-5 days because I can't get to post office until Wednesday.. postal just left a pink slip with no info of sender.

It just showed large envelope and parcel were circled and it was described as white and hard.. I have an NAO1 and I was praying everything wasn't sent back.

Well, USCIS is a huge Government bureaucracy, so anything is possible in a small number of cases...but odds are, it's not that.

I hope you are right:)

I know I did everything correct except one thing I left Alien Registration blank. When I called Tier 2 he said this wasn't a big thing..

I just hate the idea of starting all over with a new date

One more thing...you are putting the "WAC.." letters in there is well, right? Not just the numbers. Sorry if you are, just trying to think of anything else, other than a USCIS computer issue, that might be behind these errors.
