Hello everyone -

I have a question to all of you who just got throught the NVC stage. I am confused about whether civil documents sent to NVC need to be translated to English or not (in my case, mom is coming from Russia). I get mixed info about it. Could anyone kindly let me know for sure?

And How do I create a timeline? I mailed I-130 on August 30th. NOA1 is dated September 5th. Thank you!!!

thanks .... I got confused by their instructions:

"All documents not written in English or in the official language of the country in which the interview takes place MUST be accompanied by a translation in English." So I assumed no translation was needed.

Hi. Kindly update my timeline please. I called NVC today and got a case number, but no IIN yet. The operator said call back after 20 days. Is that the normal waiting period for IIN after the case number was assigned? Thanks for any inputs.

thanks .... I got confused by their instructions:

NOT written in English = Translation

OR in the language of the country= Spanish,Italian,German,Polish= NOT in English=Translation

Don't forget to send a photocopy of each document or translation you send!

Finally, after some emails and some calls to US Embassy in Frankfurt-Germany, NVC, and US Embassy in Bogota-Colombia, I got my case number and my receipt number. NVC response was that they didn't have the file and then the next response was to get in contact with the US embassy in Bogota-Colombia. Nobody knew where the file was and nobody was able to provide a case number. Yesterday I called NVC and emailed them and as usual their response was not helpful; I also email US embassy in Bogota, Colombia and they told me that they do not have my file but they gave me the case number and receipt number. I called again the NVC with that information and they told me that on Oct 2 they sent me the Agent of Choice form and the Affidavit of Support Invoice. I asked them to also send it to me via email.

What is next? Is there something I can do before receiving those documents?
