Hello VJers,

I have been browsing the experiences that people have had at the embassy in morocco, and most people who enteracted with the staff there did not have a positive experience. Why is that? Are there any people with positive experiences?

THANKS.

We actually had a good experience overall with Casa. I called and emailed them many times while we were in AP and they were all so wonderful about emailing back and there was even one person who told me to always ask for him because he would keep an eye on the AP for us. I think the majority of people there want to do a good job.

I've heard many stories of people with a different experience than what we had so perhaps we were just lucky.

My guess, is that most of the negative interactions are a result of lack of preparation. For high fraud countries, a higher level of understanding and preparation are required, including being prepared to answer any and all relationship questions without becoming indignant about them being asked. Consular officers have a difficult job to do and they are human. Dealing with difficult people who are not prepared, will tend to invoke less than pleasant interaction, just like with other humans.

I also had a good experience dealing with the Consulate in Morocco. And I have several friends who are filing now and I have spoken to them and adviced them of what to expect. Not everyone gets the same interviewer or the same questions asked yet we must always be prepared for anything. And always be truthful when answering questions on the applications. We can sometimes get away with lying to our mothers but lying to USCIS is not good. YIKES.

Our experience was great actually! It was an hour long questionnaire, but he was given the visa three days later. No harrassment, no disrespect.

We had been together for 3 years before I filed the application.

Good luck to your experience! hopefully it will go as smooth as ours.
