Hi Everyone,

I am a new member here and I found this site while I was googling about citizenships. I am so glad I found this site as it answers a lot of questions.

I have been living in the US for over 5 years now but just like most of you I had to go through all those crazy paperwork process to get my visa to move to the states to be with my spouse.

We met in Australia when he was deployed there. He was in Australia for 2 weeks and from there we kept in touch and just went from there. After a year of keeping in touch we decided that I should visit the states just to see where our relationship would go. I visited the states and stayed for 3 months. Just a week before my visa expired we got married, so we did not had enough time to process the papers. I went back to Australia and he started to file our paperwork. He filed I-129 and I-130 but I was stupid and did not read the instruction for I-129 and sent it to the same address for I-130 and of course got lost. So w just went on with the I-130 and from the time it was filed (September 2004) I got my visa of November 2005.

Our wait might have been long but at the end it was worth it. We now have an 11 month old baby girl. Yes we waited to have a baby because we wanted to spend time with each other and just like waiting for my visa it was also worth the wait.
