Quick story, not about Ovaltine. Many moons ago, sometime back in the late 80's, I had a few dates with a friends sister. She invited me to go to her company Christmas outing, A Boston Pops Christmas. Now of course I had no desire to go, but I wanted to make her happy. I was informed that I would need to wear a jacket and tie etc. So she and I went shopping at a local mens store and she picked me out a suit, tie, shirt, winter dress coat etc. $500+, and this was thirty years ago. I was beginning to question my sanity.

Anyway, we went to the Pops, and lo and behold, who read Twas the Night Before Christmas but Steve Grogan. He was injured at the time and had had knee surgery. They carried him onto the stage in a sleigh and helped him to the podium where he began reading. Instead of calling out on Dasher on Comet, etc, he called out the names of the Pats offensive linemen, on Hannah, etc!! I still remember that all these years later. It ended up being a fun night and I was glad that I decided to be open minded.

That was a long time ago and the Pops are cooler than the symphony. John Williams was the conductor and he is a composer extraordinaire. All in all, it was a great experience. Today, only purse carrying homos go to the symphony. And Bears fans.
