Dois-je declarer la naissance au consulat francais ? Y'a t'il une paperasse particuliere a faire ?

Si le bébé est né avant que vous recevez votre visa et arrivez aux Etats-Unis, le citoyen Américain devra déclarer la naissance avec le consulat et recevoir le bébé un passeport américain. Si le bébé est né après que vous n'arrivez ... aucun problème

Tu trouveras les infos sur le site du consulat.

Dans tous les cas, vous aurez besoin de la copie originale de l’acte de naissance américain apostillée («sealed and Certified Complete Copy of certificate of live birth with apostille») délivrée par le «Registrar of Vital Statistics» (le cout varie en fonction des etats).

Autre information intéressante : vous pouvez effectuer cette démarche en même temps qu'une demande de passeport ou d'une carte d'identité. Il n'y a pas de temps de latence entre toutes ces actions.

C'est utile si vous etes deja inscrit sur les registres de l'ambassade comme francais a l'etranger.
