Hello,

I got my Biometrics letter yesterday for December 7. I will not be in town on December 7 and I get back only on the Dec 9th. I will be in town till November 30th. I have heard people say it is OK to go in early than what it says on the Biometrics Appointment letter. Is it OK to go on November 30th as opposed to December 7? I would rather not postpone it and make the process longer. Also if I can go in earlier, do I have to make an appointment? Please let me know. Thank you.

Yes, you can certainly try. Some ASCs allow walk-ins, while others completely prohibit it. No, you do not need an appointment for a walk-in. Your best time to do a walk-in would be in the middle of the week. Mondays and Fridays are usually very busy. And if you do not have an appointment, they usually will turn you down without a second thought.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Yes, you can definitely try to go early. No guarantees but they often let early bio appts. in. Just don't go past your appointment date without going without making specific arrangements with USCIS, otherwise they might think you abandoned your application.

Thanks for your replies. So I am thinking of going in on November 29th which is a Monday. Right now I do not have an option of going in the middle of the week as I work in St Louis and live in Minneapolis and I travel back and forth. That being said, should I try to go in on 29th and then if they turn me down call USCIS and reschedule or reschedule before (that way my request for rescheduling is not getting to USCIS after my original appointment date of December 7) and then go in on 29th even though they might have rescheduled it for a date later than December 7th.

I never realized the replies would come back so fast. Made a posting, went to change laundry, came back ..boom there were two replies.Thank you guys.

Hi, I read from the I-751 instructions that the two fingerprint cards needed to be submitted as evidence of the application to remove conditional status. Do we do this before we send the I-751 application or after we submit are we then notified by USCIS to go for fingerprints?

Much thanks,

Jack

You do not need to submit finger print cards unless you reside overseas because of Government Orders or Military or you have a dependent overseas for whom you are applying as well. If you are in the US with your spouse, just wait for the biometrics appointment letter.

My husband has his appointment tomorrow and I was looking up the address and I noticed that they give the info. here about whether each center requires an appointment or not. If yours does, you will just have to request a later date... OR I don't know if you can walk in to another center, maybe?

My center didn't allow walk ins. Apparently they JUST do fingerprints (and photos I hope) - I don't live exactly in San Francisco any more so I guess we are closer to this small office than the main one in SF.

So I went in for Biometrics appointment on 11/29 as opposed to the original date of 12/07 and it was a breeze. Just want to let other people know if you have the appointment letter go for it earlier if you can. The worst thing that can happen is they would say no. In fact they did not even look at my appointment letter
